sleevethefatbehind got a reaction from CamillaSappho in Anyone smoke weed before or after surgery?
My partner makes it. It is made of marijuana and extracts just to THC. Your left with a product that looks like honey. I then take a small 'dab' (hence the name), which is about the side of the end of a ballpoint pen. You can use a regular bong, like you've probably seen before, but on the end, instead of a bowl to put pot into, there's a metal plate. You heat up the metal plate so it's very hot (red hot) and then put your 'dab' of oil on it, which creates a vapor that you inhale. It's better for your lungs than smoking pot, and much more efficient Hope that helps.
PS- I'm not saying that this is a fabulous habit. I'm in therapy for a reason. It's just that, like a lot of things in my life, I've taken it too far and indulged too much. I do, however, very much disagree with the above statement that it's 'illegal for a reason.' In my opinion, that reason has a lot more to do with money and big pharma than the 'risks' of marijuana.

I live in WA & dab oil (highly concentrated THC.)
Quitting for a couple weeks beforehand. My surgeon's fully aware. He'd be a lot more concerned about cigarettes.
I plan to dab oil again once I'm about 2-3 weeks out.

    1) Was there a price difference discussed between if the sleeve could be performed v. if it could not be performed? If so, what was it?
    2) It is noteworthy to mention that there could be inflammation or other medical issues relating to the prior bariatric surgery that can prevent the gastric sleeve procedure from safely being performed.
This comment is very interesting. Are you alluding that perhaps this was the case for Debra?
    3) redo the surgery for no fee for himself
Why would he offer this as an option if the sleeve surgery had already been performed?
    4)
If there was no sleeve procedure, MBC surgeon will perform gastric sleeve and the only charge she will be responsible is the revision part ($1400). Why in the world would she be responsible for any charges, if the sleeve had not been done, even though a doctor has told her it had been & there are chart notes supporting that it had been completed?

Thanks and Great analogy, Miss Mac! (I've got a BS in Marine Biology, so it's very fitting).
My PCP is actually very excited about the whole thing. He thinks this is all very " ground breaking" and feels they will be doing a lot more fecal transplants in the future for Crohn's Disease, IBD, and even obesity (they know skinny people have different GI flora than obese people). The bonus there is my donor is super thin...maybe all I needed was her poo instead of VSG.

Thank you for thinking of me. Anna hang in there. My team of doctors told me I was going to have my spleen removed and my stomach. I had a drain for my abcsess and a feeding tube through my nose. I was told this.month Iwould have surgery. Head oof the dr team said when henconsulted with bariatric surgeons they told him good luck with this case because it was so unusual. The leak was right at oseophugus. There was a fistula between spleen and stomach leak which means they were feeding off each other which would make it difficult to heal for one or the other. So my abcsess shrunk, fistula is gone and my Drain was removed. By miracle of God my leak was healed andnthat was just on Friday. My nose feed tube was supposed come oit monday but it was bothering me for the past 2nd weeks so bad. Yesterday I started gagging. Went to emerge and its out. Yesterday was my birthday and it was the best gift ever.
With that said it was a bumpy road. My stomach and maybe my spleen are staying put.
Anna I thought for sure my destiny was to have RNY to fix this problem and here I am. Please hang in there. Trust the process.

No, but I just messaged her to let her know people are wondering how she's doing. I'd be curious to know, too.
Anna you sound more positive than you have in the past - that's great to hear. Sounds like this is going to be the answer you need. Keep us posted!!

Personally I don't believe it's "lazy doctors who won't give aftercare". They get paid for this, so there is no reason not to do it.

It's been a long time since I've been on here so hete I go...
This has been the most amazing journey over the last year. I have started to live again and love again.
I was a food addict. I still am but im in recovery... I ALWAYS will be.when I was 353lbs I would wake up and think about food. I would eat and eat and eat. I reached the point that I could barely tie my own shoes bc i could barely bend over. I had to roll off of my couch to get up.. I could barely wipe my own ass. I was always uncomfortable.
    Miserable.. I was completely miserable.
When I would pull thru the drive thru I would act like I was ordering for 2 bc i was ordering so much food. When I was cashing out at the convenient store I was act like I was buying all that chips and candy for my kids.. not me.
    Embarrassed. .. that's what I was.
I would constantly compare myself to everyone... I would look at other women and actually be mad at her bc she looked better than me.. she had a better body than me.. my man probably wanted her bc i was so fat and ugly.
Ashamed is what I had become.
Finally I decided after years of dieting enough was enough.... I had the gastric sleeve 02/26/2013.BEST DECISION I MADE.
It's now been a year and here are my stats. 32 years old and 5-7'.I was 353 and now I'm 183lbs. Went from a bmi of 55.5 to 28.7. I wore a size 26 pants and now I'm in 10/12.
Over the last year I have stayed active. For the first 6 months I was VERY strict.on what I ate. Now I'm more lenient. I eat every 3 hours making Protein #1. That isn't hard for me bc I'm a hard
