any complications from Dr Aceves?
I don't have any history with him, but outpatient is pretty typical and considered safe for most getting the sleeve procedure.

I had a small leak. now all hell has broken loose
No, but I just messaged her to let her know people are wondering how she's doing. I'd be curious to know, too. Anna you sound more positive than you have in the past - that's great to hear. Sounds like this is going to be the answer you need. Keep us posted!!

Beware of Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC)
--- 1) Was there a price difference discussed between if the sleeve could be performed v. if it could not be performed? If so, what was it? 2) It is noteworthy to mention that there could be inflammation or other medical issues relating to the prior bariatric surgery that can prevent the gastric sleeve procedure from safely being performed. This comment is very interesting. Are you alluding that perhaps this was the case for Debra? 3) redo the surgery for no fee for himself Why would he offer this as an option if the sleeve surgery had already been performed? 4) If there was no sleeve procedure, MBC surgeon will perform gastric sleeve and the only charge she will be responsible is the revision part ($1400).Why in the world would she be responsible for any charges, if the sleeve had not been done, even though a doctor has told her it had been & there are chart notes supporting that it had been completed?

How long do you wait to drink after eating?
I try to do 15 min either side but sometimes life just doesn't work out that way. That, or I get really thirsty and take a little sip after a meal.

nervous i need insight
Discomfort for a few hours. Really very manageable. I remember right after surgery, I had this conversation with the nurse: Me: 'I'm in pain.' Nurse: 'What would you rate it on a 1-10 scale?' Me: '4' Nurse: 'You just had surgery. You're going to have some discomfort.' Me: 'Oh.' It was like 1/100th of childbirth.

Did anyone get a video or photos during surgery?
LOL you're hilarious. Reminds me of after my son's birth. I was so intrigued by the placenta that I took a pic.

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
I'd be very uncomfortable with this fee. I would not go to a medical facility if there was a good alternative. My program had no 'fee.' I'm not renting a movie from Blockbuster.

I always eat until a I am full. Not uncomfortable, but full and satisfied. It doesn't take that much, but I never weigh it.

Anyone have a Mirena?
Yeah i had one put in. It was a few moment of discomfort during insertion and then more just cramping, No reason to take off work, at least with my experience. Much LESS painful than giving birth!

Rosie odonnell
The article I read said she had the surgery July 2013 and has lost 40 lbs. Appears to be current info as of about late Jan, early Feb 2014. I would have to agree that it seems slow for the sleeve, but good for her! I hope she continues on a positive path of weight loss. Slow & steady can be good too.

Help, positive help needed
I would suggest a therapist. They can help work through this with you, and get to the root. I see one twice a month and have found it to be very helpful on my journey. You can Google one who specializes in obesity. Good luck.

I have gained 14 lbs in 4 days! MAGIC (FML)
It's like you are holding a few gallons of Water. But ya know, on the inside None of it's fat gain. You just had surgery! The surgery will work. The water weight will go away.

Mother @*#er!
Oh my mom was convinced I'd die. She asked if I had made 'arrangements,' said said she should probably be there as a my medical guardian. It's been about 6 weeks since my surgery. I felt look poo for a couple days, then recovered fast. I feel GREAT. I can eat anything in small portions. I haven't found anything that doesn't sit well with me.

Critique my daily diet
Oh and random thought, but I think my dislike toward tracking has to due with sometimes having to guess. It' drives me batty to think the numbers are inaccurate. Crazy, I know. My type-A is showing.

Critique my daily diet
Awesome thanks for the feedback. I am going to cut out some liquid calories. Easy way to decrease my calorie intake a notch. Also, I didn't know I could also see what other sleevers are logging on My Fitness Pal. That's very cool! I will be new to the site but I'm going to give it a go. I do believe tracking is important. It's time to create a new, good habit. Even if it's not every day, my NUT suggested maybe three days a week to help keep on track. I love hearing others daily meal plans, too

Critique my daily diet
I am miss anti-tracker. Always have been, since I Weight Watcher'd the crap out of myself in my 20's. I just have no tracking energy anymore. So here's how I'm doing without tracking Protein, calories, etc.... anything really. I am 2 months post op sleeve & have lost about just 1 pound in the last 2 weeks, but about 40 pounds since 12/13/13, including about 10 lbs in the the 10 day preop diet. Breakfast: Starbuck's Tall sugar free, Non fat Mocha Late Breakfast Snack: 2 slices (about an once-2 ounces) of deli turkey Lunch: 3/4 cup cottage cheese with lots of pepper Snack: Starbuck's Tall Non Fat Salted Caramel Mocha. Pre-Dinner: 2 slices deli turkey Dinner: Taco Time Beef salad, regular size. Ate about 1/2-3/4 cup of the beef, shredded cheese, pico de gallo & lettuce. Snack: Freshly juiced apple, strawberries (about 1/2 cup), 2 carrots, spinach & kale - about 12 ounces. Calling all nutrition critics!
