My husband is a chubby chaser.

Deakay you made me choke on my Protein shake!! I keep hoping that my general shape will remain the same as I lose weight (minus some lumps and bumps of course) and you're giving me hope. Obvi Im not a PAWG, but in an interracial relationship. While my boyfriend is supportive, he has some concerns that I will magically transform a waif. Ive told him I essentially had the same shape my entire life, there's just more or less of it. At the end of the day, I'm doing this for ME-so adjust accordingly or spare me the drama. I have enough going on.
  2. Took my official biggest loser style "before" pics with the biking shorts and sports bra. No bueno!!

    turkey meatballs graduates

I'm pre op, but purchased some a few days ago after someone mentioned them on VST. My pre op diet allows for about 3 oz of a lean meat. I tried them the other night and thought they probably were the perfect post op size. They weren't very seasoned, but maybe that's a good thing following surgery?

    Lasagna Cupcakes!

Oh my gosh as a single woman I would make these all the time and freeze them with 1-2 cupcakes per bag. I'd then defrost as needed. In considering my post-op life, I'd forgotten all about these!

    Chicken

Wait do they recommend the thighs or not? I typically buy boneless skinless thighs because breasts tend to be dry, but I'm just curious as you your center's rationale? I have a slow cooker balsamic recipe that's rather tasty. I typically used thighs but i guess it would work with breasts. 190 calories 26 gram of protein per serving, and 4 net carbs. http://m.skinnyms.com/slow-cooker-balsamic-chicken/

    Protein shakes vs protein powder

Same general principle, just use two to four spoonfuls of instant sugar free pudding powder in lieu of the crystal light. Then prepare the shake as you normally would with skim milk or whatever milk product you typically use. You can add fruit or ice if you prefer and blend.

    Protein shakes vs protein powder

For my vanilla, I use dymatize all natural elite whey protein, but I think probably any vanilla will do. Then I add one or a half of those crystal light packets made for the individual water bottles (depending on how "intense" I want the flavor. For the cheesecakes or banana creme, I add about one to two spoonfuls of sugar free jello instant pudding. The banana creme is really good with half a banana blended in. The nectar roadside lemonade is my favorite pre made powder of all and I just add a bit of strawberry lemonade powder and water to make it different

    Protein shakes vs protein powder

I'm still pre op but so far I'm a fan of the powders. I feel like it is a better bargin. I also like the idea of customizing the vanilla protein powder by adding crystal light or sugar free pudding to it. Thus far I've had a orange, cheesecake, banana creme, and strawberry watermelon. It sure beats having a 12 pack of just vanilla or chocolate. I've heard that tastes change post op so curious to see if I will continue to prefer the powder.

    I have a date

How would you find that? Congrats original poster on having your date!
  13. I'm pre-op and don't know if Wendy's chili is on this phase (I'm sure you all will let me know) but couldn't you add a scoop of unflavored protein to that? How about making your own protein beverage with nectar roadside lemonade and water? If it still doesn't taste "lemonade-y" enough add a little lemonade crystal light before adding water

    Hi from North MS ;)

So glad to hear that you are doing well. I've been combing the boards for information regarding what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Now I'm one week away! From your experience, was there anything that surprised you or you wish someone had told you beforehand?

    August 2013 Roll Call

I'm down 10 pounds as well LSU and the 19th can't get here soon enough. In our pre op we have the choice of protein bars or shakes. Thanks to you guys, my newfound discovery of quest bars and adding crystal light to vanilla protein shake powder to "customize" them has made it more interesting. Side note: as an Ole Miss law alum, this may be the most cordial conversation I've ever had with a LSU fan lol

    Got my referral

I believe you are right and the requirements of your surgical center and insurance company may vary. I initally dealt with a surgical center that required me to use this particular psychiatrist for psych evaluations. No one else. However, he only did them two days a week. Same thing with the sleep study people. At that rate, they could only see me two to three months later. So I consulted with a different facility, and they just wanted the evaluation wtih a licensed person in my area. If I had remained with the first place, I would have had my sleep consultation (not the study) at the end of July and likely would have just now had my study done. My appointment with "their" psych guy would have been later this month. Instead, I'm nine days away from having my SURGERY . I don't know where you live, but if they insist on that one year rule, you may want to check with other facilities in your area. Just sayin. Good luck to you.
  21. I heard the same thing even as I waited to pre-op testing. In fact it was that kind of talk that deterred me from exploring the option of surgery two years ago. Howver, nothing anyone says can replace the gift of good health! My blood pressure, glucose levels, and joints will undoubtedly thank me once it is all said and done.

Post-Op Full liquids Creamy Shrimp Bisque

Yum indeed. I have already printed this recipe out and plan on trying it when I graduate to this phase. I've always been a fan of any kind of crab/shrimp bisque and this one sounds dee-lish!
