The great PROTEIN DEBATE...
I have never been a huge Protein shake drinker. I drank what I had to as a new post op, then got my protein through food after that. For what it's worth, my doctor has never given me a gram amount for protein consumption. As long as all my labs come back within normal ranges, we (doc and I) are happy.

Just had a fill--can I eat too much?
If you feel you could be tighter, but find you are too tight, an unfill at that point is always an option. But, at the same time, you are eating very solid foods, feel full for at least a few hours after, and are losing weight at your current fill, how much you are eating really is not a problem.

Are you eating less than before your fill?

new here
Sometime people get away with not having to adjust their fill after finding the "sweet spot" other's don't. I haven't had an adjustment in over a year. It really just depends on the individual. Some people never find their sweet spot either... And to be honest, I think I am one of them. I could always eat more than most people here report eating. I could, and can eat anywhere up to 1.5 cups, depending on what I am eating. A lot of my weight loss has been more down to my food and exercise choices than the band, and restriction.

Slow loser needs advice from good losers
How lean is the protein you are eating? Any sauces or gravy? Could you be eating hidden fats?

4pm nibbles ideas?
I love an apple and peanut butter as an arvo snack. Call me twisted, but I love that combo! Or a banana, or an orange, a couple of kiwi fruit, a small bag of pop corn, some cheese, a handful of nuts, or a cup of soup.

Is the lap band healthy?
I am thrilled with my band. I just avoid these types of threads. Not everyone here has issues with their band.

Can you eat peanut butter, yes or no??
I can, and do.

I Need Help From Experienced Banders
No one can tell you what or how to feel. But at one week out I would not "testing" my band at all. The first 4 to 6 weeks are all about healing, not about weight loss, or feeling very much at all. Some people will feel their restriction right out of the gate, others can take a few fill to even feel the band restricting the way they eat at all. But again, at one week out, this is not where you are at. You should be focused on healing. If you have concerns, I really would be talking to your doctor / surgeon about the way you are feeling. Best of luck.

Vegetarian Diet
That's odd that you would gain weight eating veggie. Are you eating nuts? Are you frying your veggies? Veggie food can be really high in fat unless you are really careful with how it is prepared. Are you eating white grain (white rice, Pasta, white bread ect) or brown and wholemeal? What fruit are you eating? Some fruit choices are better than others (higher or lower in sugar) How are you getting your Protein? shakes? Nuts? Tofu? I eat a veggie diet, and have lost all my weight, and have maintained eating this way. It can be done.

How do I unregister?
I don't know if you can un-register here at LBT, but you may be able to PM a mod to have your account deleted. Congratulations on your surgery!

Australian Bandsters Chat Thread
I usually have a glass of hot Water, or herbal tea before trying to eat in the am. I am not tight in the morning any more, but I still have my hot water / herbal tea because... I just like it now! But in the early days, it did make a huge difference to my ability to eat early in the morning.

Courtney Love has the band??
I love the look on the face of the boy in the red shorts! Priceless. On CL; I highly doubt that she was banded. She more likely had a personal trainer on her back daily, and ate like a bird.

Will I need Plastic Surgery?
Mandi, I will get my husband to take a photo when he gets home... They are not too bad, really. They are just not as tight as I would like, but nothing I am running to the surgeon for. My thighs are worse than the arms. But again, nothing I would run out and have another elective surgery for.

Do you ever feel like the lapband is cheating?
I think I would have been cheating myself out of the life I have now if I had *not* been banded.
