Oh no! I don't qualify
Don't let that scare you, they can still submit it its up to the insurance to approve or deny. My dr's office had gave me some really high BMI number and at that time I was lower than what they said would be approved. I asked that they still submit it and they did. I was approved through Aetna. So you never know ask them to submit and see what happens. If you have gained and lost weight a lot good chance you should be approved.

Is 185 a good weight
I'm 5 9 and I weighed 316 so if I can actually make it 200 lbs (I know I will) that would just be awesome, and if I like the way I look I may just maintain that weight or at least try. Good luck with your insurance approval.

Is 185 a good weight
Wow 107 lbs it just sounds small doesn't ? How tall are you? As long as your healthy I think you should be ok. I just want to be at a comfortable weight that I don't have to worry about all the numbers , in fact when I reach goal I may just ditch the scales.

Cheating?
You decide what you eat your friends don't. For example my wife loves her junk food aka Snacks. I don't eat all the chips and muffins, and Cookies that my wife eats, and I don't let her decisions influence mine. On my days off I like to have a cold beer with plenty of ice. Now I know that If I would drink beer every single day just because someone else did it , then I wouldn't be me anymore I would be them. So its hard to have self control but there are plenty of things that other people do that I don't, and just because someone I know does these things does not mean they are good for me. As some have stated the sleeve does give you more self control because you are not able to sit at one meal and eat a large pizza or whole pie at one sitting. Your sleeve is good portion control . These are just my opinions but, at some point you have to decide whats right for you and just stick to it,no matter what.

Divorce/ break up post sleeve?
Why was this relationship good for 2 years and you were ok with him not working or doing anything but now that you have changed you want him to leave, I don't get that part. I usually see this when men get married and the wife wants a divorce. The wife didn't work the entire marriage nor contribute financially but now they are divorcing. Oh well if your not happy you should never settle but it seems like you both were using each other, you supported this guy because he came to your rescue. Now you say you don't need rescuing anymore. You have to do whatever makes you happy but there may be some other issues that need to be addressed.

Is 185 a good weight
Hey guys just wondering about your goal weights , I originally wanted to set my goal weight at 200 lbs I'm 5'9". I know that the government has all these weird BMI charts and at 200 it still appears I would be in the obese category. My body type is always huge thighs like a line backer and big ol pot belly. So should I shoot for a goal weight of 185, I want to reduce my body fat percentage to at least under 15%. What is your goal weight, and if you couldn't reach that goal at what weight do you feel comfortable being? I believe when I make 200 lbs I could be comfortable at this weight because I haven't been that small since I was a kid.

Depressed....
I understand how you feel but you have a support system here and if you have any questions or needs I'm sure there is someone that is willing to always help you out. It is normal to have new concerns or fears about having a major life changing surgery like the sleeve. The way you used to control your emotions are limited if food was your comfort. Everyone is able to have a few bad days or even a period of time where he or she may feel as if they doubt what they or etc. One good thing about having been depressed before and taking therapy is that you have those tools to rely on when you feel like your in a bad spot. Lets face it once your depressed there is no magic cure or nothing anyone can do just at that moment to make you feel as if you won't ever have those feelings again. I hope that my words have brought some comfort. You are entitled to feel good about yourself and your life. Now that you know its not food think of some ways that you can improve your body, maybe going to work out more, personal trainer, working out with a friend or loved one. Try and think of anything that's a positive way to keep you motivated.

Do u ever feel normal about food?
As long as you don't eat it as much as you think about it I'm sure your normal. I'm always thinking about when and what will I eat next. I get so tired of thinking about food but I would be dead otherwise.

Why is this so hard?
Awesome post, good luck with everything.

Depressed....
I would look into some client centered therapy because meds are good to help control our moods but sometime we need to get deeper into the cause of it.

The frustration of it all
Well don'y ruin your fun have a day to eat what you want and get back on the wagon afterwards. I have had to do this as well and I feel much better. Some days I make the protein goal and some I don't but overall I'm loosing weight and I'm healthy. Don't let this make you rethink your new relationship with food.

I'm so hungry! 7 weeks post-op
I feel this way as well but couldn't say what it is. I eat the hunger pains go away. I drink and they go away. So maybe I'm just hungry and thirsty a bit more. I don't have any way of knowing what is what but I do get heart burn and I know what that feels like without a doubt.
