  1. Yesterday was 10 mons since my surgery. OMG, down from size 13/14 to size 4 pants & shirts from x-large to x-small. Unbelievable.
  2. Awesome, you look great. I was thinking the same thing. Looked at family photos just the other day and was like, "wow, I got that big?"
  3. Thanks. And that will happen. Good Luck.
  4. For me, they told me 60-80 grams per day. I was advised anything more will decrease my weight loss. So I don't go over 80.
  5. Thanks. Trust me, you will have those moments.
  6. Hi Karen, I've always thought your comments & blogs were good, & inspirational. Which is one of the main reasons I took special interest in what you have to say. The other, I too am from the Philadelphia area and periodically liked to check up on other Philadelphians. Glad to hear all went & still continue to good well for you. Best wishes on your continued success.
  7. Went to fund raiser yesterday. Saw a few friends that I hadn't seen in a while. As I walked down the steps, one of my friends, thats seen recent pictures of me, pointed me out to another friend. The other friend didn't recognize me initially because she hadn't seen me since I started this healthier journey. It was too funny when she did, then she went crazy with compliments. Felt so good.
  8. I wore sweats & was most comfortable sitting for me.
  9. Awesome. You look great. I'm 10 mons out today. Down 68 lbs with BMI 25.4 & feeling good.
  10. I drink water during my workouts. 10 mons post op'& have no problem drinking water now.
  11. It took less than a week after doctor submitted request. I have Independence Blue Cross.
  12. I have Independence Blue Cross & was approved with no problem because my employer approved it in the policy. So it actually depends on how the policy is written. Did their employer exclude WLS from your policy completely? If so, then their Blue Cross plan will not cover it. It totally depends on how the policy is written. If its a self funded policy, they can go directly to their employer to request approval.
  13. My brother in law told me 3 months ago not to lose anymore weight. It really doesn't matter what he or anyone else thinks. To be honest, I encouraged my sister to start exercising & eat healthier. So I think he's afraid my sister may lose & become more attractive.
  14. No worries. Just get back to the basics. You will have those moments when you get off track. But as long as you recognize it before you go too far, you'll be ok. I've strayed once in a while, and get right back to the basics. 10 mon post op & still losing. So, don't be discouraged. It's ok. Good luck!
  15. Sending prayers your way.
  16. My BMI was around 35. I had a few health issues & insurance approved with no problem because of them. Pre op weight was 197. I told only my husband & 3 close friends who understood I needed to do this for my health. While they were worried, they understood & supported my 100%. I purposely didn't tell others as I was certain they'd say I wasn't big enough for WLS & try to talk me out of it. I must say, the sleeve is this best thing that I've done. I've had no post op horrors. At almost 10 mons post op, I've never felt better. Most importantly, all of my previous health issues no longer exists. For me, best decision ever. Good luck.
  17. It altered my cycle for 6 mons. It came 2 days after surgery which was 2 weeks early. It skipped 2 - 3 mons. Then it came 2 times in the same month, which happened twice. By month 6, it returned to normal. Now that's cycle adjustment, lets talk about the hot flashes. Because of the hormonal changes caused by the weight loss, the hot flashes & night sweats started 3 months post op. While they still occur at almost 10 months out, they are manageable with Estroven I know at 47 i am at THE age, but doc sad this brought it along sooner. Not complaining, just sharing.
  18. Good luck. You'll do well.
  19. That's great. Very encouraging, I'm approaching 10 mons post op & down from size 13/14 to a 5/6. Can't believe it & can't wait to see where i'll be at 1 year. This sleeve is awesome.
