  1. That's great! Enjoy the experience, you deserve it!!!!!
  2. Yes, things will get better. Its still pretty early for you. You gotta just keep at it. If the protein shakes are making you nauseous, try the protein water. Something called isopure protein. It will help you with both you're fluids & protein. Hang in there though, it will definitely get better.
  3. Independence Blue Cross here & pre-auth was required.
  4. During my initial eval with the surgeon last July, she asked me when did I want to have the surgery. I said Oct or Nov. so we scheduled other visits immediately. Got surgery date in mid Oct & had surgery Nov 7.
  5. Lol...I do everything mentioned here. Also find myself standing in front of the mirror longer.
  6. My cycle was crazy for 6 mons. Got it 2 days post op & it was weeks early. Missed it for 2 months. Got it twice in one month. Got it bad for 2-3 months lasting for 5 days, pre-op normal for me was 2 days total. Didn't get back to normal until 6 mons post op.
  7. Awesome & very inspiring! You should be so proud!!!!
  8. When I was cleared to eat anything, I was so excited. Couldn't wait to eat a grill chicken sandwich from Wendy's. After 2-3 bites, I was beyond full. It was a combination of eating it too fast and the bread. I learned my do's & don'ts immediately. Now i eat very little carbs & high Protein foods in small portions. And I eat very, very slow. Nervous is good, that way you'll pay attention. You'll do we'll, just take it day by day. Some things may be intolerable now, but may be tolerable later. Or vice versa. So it's really trail & error. Good luck!!
  9. Great transformation! Congrats!!!!
  10. I had it, but it went away after a week or 2. Could've been gas bubbles.
  11. Took me a few months to be able to sleep on my stomach with out discomfort. It was the gravity. i started using a pillow at my side. and as time went by, eventually it got better. No problems sleeping on my stomach now.
  12. I looked into the rockin refuel. It has a lot of sugar & may be counter productive for me. 8 oz has like 20+ gms of sugar. This concerns me.
  13. I was out for 5 weeks. No lifting anything over 10 lbs until 4 weeks.
  14. Protein & exercise.
  15. Even if your doc ok's it, be careful because it won't take much to get you drunk. Some docs may say no. My doc approved wine at 6 weeks but I could only handle a half glass before I got tipsy, so I stop.
  16. It's ok to losing up a little for vacation as we deserve it. As long as we don't get out of control & get right back on track when we return home. You should be proud of yourself. Good job.
  17. Oh, BTW, I have no problem with my bladder.
  18. O ok, the entire team at Abington I thought was great.
  19. Brownrek, I went to Abington too. Did Dr. Noonan perform your surgery?
  20. I had the EDG because of GERD. Afterwards, doc put me on meds until 6 mons post op. had only one episode with reflux since off meds, & that happened because I laid down too soon after eating. Never again. It's been smooth sailing for me ever since. People are different though. I hear some folks with the sleeve still have major reflux. I guess I'm lucky.
  21. I tell them I'm eating healthier, smaller portions, gave up drinking beer & all alcohol except wine. I also tell them that I'm in the gym at 5 am 4 days a week & have a personal trainer. All true, I just don't mention the surgery part because its personal.
  22. OMG, yes. I find myself trying to hold my husband back. Weird that we want it more, but I'm fighting to handle it all in a good way. It's just unbelievable & overwhelming at times. They say be careful what you wish for. Lol....
  23. I drink Water up to 15 mins before a meal. I don't drink again until an hour after my meals. Other than that, i pretty much drink water or hot decaf tea throughout the day. i find Greek yogurt, nuts, Protein shakes along with chicken or fish keeps me full.
  24. Yes, mines did shrink & is even more appealing to me & hubby. Unbelievable what goes on now!!!!
