missmee replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't take a hot bath/shower. If your blood pressure is already low this causes vasodilation and will drop it even lower Take care, -

missmee replied to msjoy83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just bend your knees a little. It will make you shorter and hike your bmi up a little. -

Post-op Pain Control? IV Tylenol? Not convinced.
missmee replied to gohelpyourself's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IV Tylenol is effective but this should be a schedule med for a few dose and you should also have a PRN (as needed) med for pain usually narcotic. I've never seen IV Tylenol used as a PRN. -
Stall? Or am I doing something wrong?
missmee replied to FabBoston03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stalled for 3weeks starting the end of my third week and through a lot of trial and error I found I cannot eat more than 50grams of carbs/day. So now the only carbs I eat are in my south beach meal bars which aren't bad. Otherwise it's all protein with the occasional vegetable. Been doing that for 6 days and am already down 5 more pounds. I also won't allow my self to eat anything until I finish a whole bottle of water, good to have an incentive -

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
missmee replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just be careful, you are at a higher risk for DVT and pulmonary embolisms due to your extended hospital stay. Shortness of breath and tachycardia are symptoms. I'm not trying to scare you, just want you to be mindful of that. -

Coffee has caffeine which is a diuretic, even decaf has a small amount of caffeine in it. Prob should only drink it if your getting all your fluids in ok.

You can't be a dnr and have surgery. It's contradictory. In the hospital part of our pre surgical checklist is to make sure dnr is rescinded. Intubation is a no no on a dnr.
