I started this journey exactly a year ago today
September 7, 2012 I was so nervous and scared for how my life would change and how different things would really be from my normal life. Thank GOD I chose this for me, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm SO happy in my new body and am getting married 11/2/13 <3 can't wait to show off my new less voluptuous curves In my MERMAID wedding dress!!! Cheers sleevers, you are beautiful!

Officially sleeved can hardly wait to see what my future holds!

I started my liquid diet on 9/3/2013 and so far I am down 10lbs. Six more days to go.

I'm having a little pain from the gas but I've been walking laps as soon as I could! I imagine it will just get better from here on out! I wanted this so bad so I think that my optimism is knocking out the pain. I knew this was for me when I was willing to put myself on national television this summer when I tried out for the Biggest Loser. I thought, yep. I'm ready for big change.

Finally! Surgery done! Went great and so excited!

I just got the call today. I'm down for September 17th. I am excited and nervous. It's finally going to happen

Made it thru surgery! Took about 2 hours
Had the sleeve & hernia. Doing ok, on oxygen about 2 hours after, some gas pain, went to the bathroom. Already & up on my feet walking in my room twice. Still light headed, so they said no laps quite yet. It's still early. So there's still a lot that could happen. Time will tell. Just remember while in the hospital to Breath Deep as you can, it helps with the gas pain. Move you feet while in bed or sitting, helps prevent clots. & walk ASAP

Ok today is 9/6 and I am 2 days post op. alittle sore but most of all I can't keep down alot. I had surgery on 9/4 and was supposed to be home oh 9/5 . Thinks didnt work out. Still vomiting the pain meds so I think I will stop taking it and deal with the pain. I can't deal with the feeling sick. Water is hard to drink and cramps are always present when I do. I try and listen to my body and sipping is all I can do. No mater what, I'm swallowing air and I can feel every bubble. I pray and hope that things get better and I can keep things down better! Thanks for all the advise on this forum!

I am not really fearful of failing at loosing the weight or gaining it back. I started doing very intensive therapy at the beginning of this year to address the reason I am overweight in the first place. I did the hard mental work first before I even knew I wanted to do WLS. My only real fear is the surgery itself and potentially unforeseen complications. I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest putting new clothing outfit ideas in my "personal best" board. It's keeping me busy and my mind off things.

Ok so the pre op diet is going better than I thought it would. When I get hungry...and it's alot, I have some sugar free Jello. It actually helps alot. So I am one day and a wake up from my surgery date and surprisingly I am not as nervous as I thought. Wednesday at 745am is my time...I am so excited. I will keep everyone posted. Good luck to everyone having their surgery today!!
I'm new to the site, kind of new to this whole thing all around. My nutritionist recommended surgery July 18th, and it's scheduled for next week, Sept 18th. All the tests are done, insurance approved, meeting with the surgeon and nutritionist one last time tomorrow. I can't believe how much my life is changing in just two months.
Luckily I only have one day of liquids-only pre-op. Oh and I'm from Illinois. Looking forward to keeping in touch with all of you September Sleevers out there so we can help each other along

Thinking of those that are being sleeved today. Here's to wishing for a speedy no complications recovery.

My surgery has been moved to the 1st of October now so little longer to wait but still excited at the prospect of what is to come!

Good luck tomorrow, hope you come out of the operating room pain free and dancing, lol.

I am up for September 23rd. Excited, scared, anxious. Glad not to be alone!

Sept 10th... Here I come lol nervous about the surgery. I don't care about the food.., its what got me into this mess to begin with... Good luck to everyone on their surgery and journey!

Had my pre-op with my surgeon yesterday, averaging about a pound a day on the liquid diet. I am very ready for Monday... I have waited for something like this my whole life, now I know why it didn't happen until now, because now I worked really really hard for it.
