Ms.Yvette reacted to Kalimomof3 in Why?
My sister today told me "you look marvelous but what happened to your boobs?" And then she said "Why are you trying to lose 18-23 more pounds are you going for A cup titties?"
To this I replied "well it looks like I am going to end up buying some anyways does it really matter how small they get?" Lol mind you they aren't that small yet I am a D (small D?)but compared to my previous FF that is tiny I guess but I am 5'2.5 . My main issue with them is that they look so deflated and droopy My lower abdomen has a sagging pouch from weightloss and pregnancies ...Mommy makeover is in my future but if I have to tackle one at a time my Boobs will be first:)

First real "encounter" since the surgery (lots of fooling around, but yesterday was... the full meal deal). And... guys... wow. GET THIS SURGERY.
Before the surgery, I was a real "one minute wonder" (if I could even get lucky; at 338, it doesn't happen much). I would be panting and wheezing and see spots, and I was lucky to even be able to finish. I was used to the woman not... finishing, either.
    Yesterday.
    SEVEN. HOURS.
She had more... moments of joy than I could count (maybe 12? 15? 20?), and I had... THREE.
THREE. In one night! Guys, I'm 42. That just doesn't HAPPEN to guys my age.
And it certainly never happened before the sleeve.
Good god, men, if you have ANY problems in that area at all and are pre-sleeve, RUN, don't walk, and get the surgery.
UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE. I thought that stuff only happened in porno movies...
Ok, I'll shut up now. But... wow.
    Sore... exhausted... and happy
Edit: uh, it wasn't seven hours continuously, I should mention... 8pm till 3am, but not all, uh, action. Even at my current fitness level, that WOULD kill me. Seven hours of go... rest, chat, laugh... go... rest, chat, laugh... repeat until too sore and exhausted to continue! And NOW I WILL shut up.

Ms.Yvette reacted to pcindy in my dr. has only done 6 sleeves...is that a concern??
Hi Lou. I read your story and you've really been through the ringer. I know I wouldn't be able to afford this surgery out-of-pocket, but 6 sleeves does not make for a good experience level. I know that a lot of people on this site go far away (Mexico etc...) for their surgeries. I would not want to be so far away from my surgeon. I'm lucky to have an experienced local surgeon who accepts my insurance- a sort of trifecta. It appears that you may need to give up one of those 3 things- insurance coverage, proximity, or experience. That's a really tough call that I don't envy. One thought is this: ask your surgeon who trained him in VSG, and ask if that doctor would be willing to be present in the OR. Also, ask your surgeon detailed questions about his technique, such as: size of bougie, method of closure (my bariatric practice has had zero instances of leaks b/c they over-sew the staple line, and then glue on top of that), etc... Ask if you can talk with other patients (do they run an ongoing support group?). Ask if they do a pre-op liquid diet (a responsible and conservative approach that reduces liver size and density, and evaluates patient ability and commitment to following critical liquid post-op diet). It's nice to have a surgeon with a good long successful track record in a procedure, but on the other hand, he's doesn't sound new at all to bariatric surgery, and VSG is less complicated than bypass. Just don't be afraid to ask ask ask. It's your body and your right. Good luck with this tough decision and hang in there!

I don't fly well either- always kinda looking at the bad things that can happen. For me, I put my faith and trust in my surgeon and learned to block the rest. That is easier said than done, right? I know the anxiety is normal, I have been through it all and lived to be on the other side. What you are feeling is NORMAL. Just keep telling yourself it will be okay (and I totally believe it will be) and put people in your life who support this decision (like me!). And personally I haven't read anything about the sleeve and stomach or pancreatic cancer- and I refuse to. I am not going to borrow trouble today when it is so beautiful out and summer vacation still in full swing! (I am a teacher, lol). Don't let yourself go there, hold on, you really will be ok and so glad you did this for yourself!

I don't want to sound perverted but I've had a hard time keeping my hands off myself since the fat came off. No, not in a sexual way.
You know when you had a tooth pulled out and your tongue kept going into the empty space? It seems the brain needs to get used to rapid changes in body image. It seems to want to map the areas over and over until it gets the picture.
I have found myself feeling the sunk in area around my collar bone, my protruding ribs, my sinewy shoulders, my smaller wrists, my thin legs when I wasn't even aware I was doing it. Decades with a fat body leaves an impression. I think my brain is trying to erase it.
Anyone else having to adjust to the empty spaces?

I rarely buy cook books anymore. There are so many recipes online that I can find everything I need with the touch of a button! Eggface has a lot of good recipes on her site. I am sure there are others out there but that is a great place to start.
