  1. I start burping. Lol. I know when I start burping and feeling a bit uncomfortable I have hit my limit. I had a rough bout of nausea for the first two to three weeks after surgery so I refuse to eat more after I get that feeling. I do not want to get sick!!
  2. Surgery July 3rd Starting weight: 310 lbs Surgery day weight: 297 lbs Current weight: 265 lbs 45 lbs gone and I feel pretty good. I am down almost three sizes so I think I am losing inches faster than weight. Good luck all!!!
  3. So sorry to hear this. It does get better!! I was so sick for three weeks. I couldn't keep much down and had a really hard time drinking anything too. I had to be re admitted to the hospital once for fluids and I went to an infusion place twice more for fluids. I am about 6.5 weeks out and feeling better. It has been a long road but I have lost 45 lbs and feel so much better. You will get through this. Unfortunately it will just take a bit longer than you thought. I still have days where I feel crappy but they are beginning to be less than those where I feel pretty good. If you don't feel like going out to dinner every night then take some time to yourself. Your family will certainly understand. Hang In there and know that in a few weeks this will all be behind you!!!
  4. I am five weeks out and having a really hard time eating enough. On most days I eat a yogurt, maybe some unsweetened applesauce and a little cheese. I am just not hungry. I have had horrible nausea which is finally getting a bit better and my sense of smell is intense. Neither of those things help with my appetite. I have tried all of the protein drinks and powders and just cannot stomach them yet. I am hopeful this will change as more time passes. I am sure I am not getting enough protein and probably not enough fluids. This is a tough adjustment for sure!!
  5. Peanut butter. Ugh.
  6. 310 before preop diet and surgery 297 day of surgery 268 today. Surgery was July 3rd, 2013

    Help with my fitness pal

How do you guys track when you take two to three bites of something? I don't find it hard to track when it is a yogurt or something like that but find it challenging when I have two bites of chicken salad from a grocery store for instance. Any suggestions would be great!!
  8. Thanks so much! I will try both and see if either work.
  9. Yeah. Mine started at week 2 and has lasted a few weeks so far. I lost a lot in the beginning (14 lbs before surgery and 17 lbs right after) so I haven't been too worried yet.
  10. I am having a really hard time finding something that I like to drink. Water hurts my stomach and artificial sweeteners make me nauseous. I drink a small regular Gatorade in the mornings but have hard time getting more fluids in. Any suggestions?

    Sharper sense of smell

Yes!!! At four weeks out it is starting to die down a bit. I can remember being so sick after surgery and a nurse walked in with the strongest cologne. It was horrible!!

    Nexium

I take the pill itself twice a day. I have since I was four days post surgery. Goes down pretty easily.
  13. I am the same way. I was very sick in the beginning and at this point I just concentrate on eating and drinking to keep the nausea away. I cannot stomach protein drinks and tend to get fluids in through fruit and Popsicles. I figure that this I at he beginning and that as I get used to this new life I will get there. Try not to stress too much. This is a big change and we will all get there in our own time!
  14. Did you guys all have nausea and dry heaves?
  15. To feel better. I had my surgery on July 3rd and have had ups and downs. Some days I feel ok and some I feel nauseas all day. I am so ready to move on, get back to work, etc. anybody else have this experience and feel better finally? I need something to look forward to!!
