  1. I know how you feel Don't get down on yourself...everyone is addicted to SOMETHING I am convinced. I wish I could be addicted to celery and exercise as well but I hate both. Now that I can't eat I want other unhealthy things. For example, I've never been a real smoker but I think about smoking all the time now (haven't given in yet). It's a battle for sure. Why does a cheeseburger excite me so? I'll never know because I can't afford therapy but hopefully you will!
  2. I haven't tried broccoli or cauliflower.... I'm scared lol!
  3. My sleeve was 7-8-13. Heaviest was 340. Today I am 271. So give or take 70 lbs down. Very happy Hasn't been a walk in the park for sure but I feel like a different person. 130lbs to go!
  4. I'm about 3 months post op and my tummy WILL NOT tolerate salad in any form! I miss it so much....get so sick of dense food and long for something with some crunch! Veggies are a no go as well (even cooked). Antibody else have this issue? Any suggestions? Thx!
  5. I had my sleeve July 8 and I don't eat out that much. If I do need something quick, 90% of the time I'll stop at a gas station and buy string cheese. Other times when I'm really having a craving I'll go to Krystal or White Castle and get one cheeseburger and take the top bun off. At a sit down I just eat about 5 bites of whatever protein other ppl order. Chicken, Steak, Fried Cheesesticks, chips and dip (rarely) and eggs are about all I'll eat. Other stuff just doesn't stay down (salad, veggies, potatoes, bread, Mexican, Asian, Pasta) and I've thrown that stuff up enough that it isn't even very tempting now. Another one of my favorite tricks when eating out is to scrape all the toppings off of one small piece of pizza and it's very satisfying. I eat nothing that was on my previous op diet (broth, soup, jello, pudding etc.) LOL. I do drink wine 3 times a week!
  6. I have lost 60 lbs and I'm about 11 weeks out and I was sexing it up about 2 wks after. Sex is way better because I can move around more and now I don't feel like I'm smothering!
  7. Meant to thank EVERYONE for your words! It helped me a lot.. more than you can possibly know. Still struggling but I'm losing weight pretty quickly now. Down to 284!
  8. It is terrible how we feel like we have to make each other feel bad. We are all struggling and it's about support not putting people down! Good luck and hopefully you will find some relief from her comments!
  9. OK, so I'm about to have a big pity party...would appreciate encouragement  So I was sleeved 7/8/13 and weighed 327 day of surgery. Here I am 7 weeks later and I weigh 295. I feel like I am doing what I am supposed to be doing (just met with my nutritionist and I am hell bent on doing things right) and I just feel like I should be losing like a pound a day and I'm not! The scale barely moves, I just bought a size smaller pants thinking they would fit and they don't. I am back to feeling tired all the time like before surgery. I am also really over throwing up all the time. I don't overeat (I eat slowly and with caution and the right things) and it's like I can't stand the feeling of food in my stomach. Before surgery, it took a lot for me to throw up, now it's like a daily thing...too much water, throw up.....stomach feels full, throw up. I like how it feels to rid my stomach of food honestly. idk, maybe I just need some kind words right now. Thanks! I just want to be happy and healthy and active and feeling good and just can't seem to get there. Also, I poop ALL THE FREAKING TIME like it's my job. That's getting old too. I guess I'm just kinda mad at my body and wondering if I did the right thing!
  10. I thought I was the only weirdo who named the new tummy! It seemed natural to name it because she is like this diva part of my body. I named her....SASHA FEARLESS lol because she is a diva (like Beyoncé...Sasha Fierce) but I am always fearless, hence we call her SASHA FEARLESS.
  11. I'm with JessicaAnn! I imagine myself in a hot lbd with some badass shoes! Also can't wait to wear tight jeans with a sexy halter type party top!
  12. Hey girl! I feel you. My surgeon told me no alcohol for 6 months but seems it's because of calories rather than safety. I'm 7 weeks out and I've tried wine, beer and liquor (I've told y'all I'm a rule breaker....but I'm 100% honest with my support group and medical team) and beer was by far the worst. I mean two drinks and I was hurting.... thik it's the carbonation. Wine and liquor I did fine with but I'm VERY careful about the amount and I drink extra water. Good luck!

  14. Personally I think they look ok....mine bruised up like that too. I did not have staples however, so I might be a bit concerned about the buildup around the staples, but that may be normal. I think you are probably fine but like others said if they are hot to the touch or leaking pus, get to the doc! I've worked in healthcare for over 10 years, but not a DR or RN
  15. LMAO......what will we have to threaten people with when we are no longer big enough to hurt people by sitting on them?! hahahahahaha
  16. I was 327 on Jul 8th when I had surgery. I was 309 on Jul 18th and today Aug 18 I'm 298. I feel this is TOO FREAKING SLOW! Idk what the heck is wrong or rather why so slow, but I see the nutritionist Tuesday. I feel too lightheaded when I work out. Can't do chicken at all....only lunchmeat or ground beef/turkey in sauce. Tried 5 raw baby carrots yesterday and was up til 4am puking/burping/regurgitating. Not fun. I'm kinda irked can ya tell! The only thing I can eat without my stomach hurting is crackers with soft cheese.
  17. Wow do I ever remember that poop! It was like a full day of terribleness. I was recovering at home and kept complaining that there was no poop and then BAM more poop that I could have ever imagined. Liquid Fire my friends.....be prepared.
  18. You aren't alone! It is because most of us have tried EVERYTHING and it didn't work, so we think we are the one exception to the rule and that we will always be overweight and doomed for life. I was CONVINCED it didn't work. About week 3 I had a stall and I was like "see....it didn't work and I'm gonna be fat forever!" then the next week I lost 9 pounds. I have lost 29 pounds in 6 weeks thank you Jesus! You will lose, but don't expect it to be all at once or like 50 pounds in a month which is what I was led to believe from my time spent on VST! You will do great!
  19. Hi there I am 6 weeks post op. My surgeon told me to follow the 30 min rule above but I am a rule breaker to the core of my being! I have tried it all, so I find that I can not eat as much if I drink up until I start eating. If I try to drink even a literal SIP of anything after I've eaten, I throw up. It's very frustrating because you get so thirsty after you eat! I carry gum or sugar free hard candy to combat the desire to drink. Good luck!
  20. Hi there! I'm 8 days out and I am so happy for you (and for me and for everyone else out there who had an easy time with the surgery. I know, I didn't hardly even feel like I had surgery. I was like-did you really remove something? And then I didn't lose any weight until day 6 so don't get discouraged like I did if that happens to you. I am very head hungry...I swear I would just love to have a nice crunchy salad and some pizza. I don't know why I'm craving those two things but I am. I am very sick of Soup and Jello but we will make it! Drinking doesn't make me sick it just kinda feels uncomfortable. Good luck!
  21. Thank you all for the kind advice! I did make it...now I'm sleeved and feeling just GREAT!
  22. You are so right! I'm now in recovery at my Mom's house...nothing to do but take a walk, sip Water and watch TV! I'm so ready to be back at work (well sort of ) so that I'll have my mind busy!
