July 17 I was sleeved. Have lost about 30 lbs - about 4 Pre-op. it doesn't really show yet. I guess it is because I have 100+ to drop. I went shopping with my daughter last week and it willbe a long time before I am in "normal" clothes. Slow and steady...every day is progress. I keep telling myself how much work it is to drop 30 lbs!

Feels like I'm losing slow, but apparently not. I'm on myfitnesspal as kathikennedy. I get about 600-700 calories a day, and today was the first day I have been over 55 grams of Protein. I haven't had any problems after the first couple weeks, when I was extremely tired and nauseas. I love my sleeve!!

I was sleeved on the 16th. I am down 20 pounds since surgery and 34 pounds since I started this journey. I lost 12 pounds my first week, 5 pounds the next week, then I stalled for a week. I have lost 3 pounds this week. Tomorrow is 5 weeks out for me. I feel great! Thanks for posting everyone...looks like I am not as far behind as I thought. It is coming off much slower than I was expecting.

I was told to be at 600 calories a day right now too but that the top two things to remember are to get in the Protein and to not eat if I am not hungry.

37 lbs gone and feel great. This was the best thing I could of ever done.
And I've had a 10 day stall on my 2nd week of surgery. But it's slowly coming off. Some weeks I'm down 1 lb and some 3 lbs. slow but nice and steady. But I just keep doing what I'm doing and happy it's coming off and staying off.
I've been eating 800-1000 calories since my 2nd week post op. My Dr and nutricionist told me I was eating way to much. I shd only be consuming 600 cals to 800 max. And ideally after 1yr eat abt 1000 cal a day. Has anyone ever been told that? I was also told to workout 6 days a week to speed up my weightloss. I'm currently doing 4-5 days a week power walking abt 3 miles each time. But was told that wasn't engh.
I'm just curious if anyone has experienced that before.
    Thanks

    Hi everyone!
I had my surgery on 7/26. I lost 19 lbs since then and a total of 40 since I started the process. I, too, have my days when I feel I am losing too slowly and then I realize that we are all different and if I work my sleeve, I will lose the weight. Just have to have patient.

    Hi July 2013 Sleevers!
Congratulations to everyone... I know there are obviously still ups and downs in this process for all of us and it's so good to be supported and understood and find encouragement here!
I was sleeved July 12, 2013. My start weight was 296. I lost 10 lbs on pre-op and I've lost 31 since my surgery five weeks ago - Total of 41 lbs.
I realized that the pre-op diet and post-op clear and full liquids diet are what jump-started the weight loss for me. The scale is moving slowly now, but still down - woo hoo!!!
We're now in the middle of moving to a new house and I've packed my scales away. No more weighing until we're set up in the new house next week.
My NSV's keep motivating me too! 1. No more CPAP since 3 weeks post-op! 2. People notice! - my daughter says it's so much easier to hug me close! (She's 14 - and loves to hug me... does a mother good!) 3. My feet (heels mostly) don't hurt much at all anymore! 4. I've taken up 4 notches on my belt! 5. I don't look 8 months pregnant anymore... maybe just 3... lol. 6. My energy level is picking up nicely! 7. So much less overall muscle and joint pain!
Things are not always great since having surgery, of course.... I've had a few "issues" now and then with nausea, eating one too many bites (uugghh!), real hunger that lasts for two or three days straight, itching all over, and occasional dizziness. Thankfully these things pass - or at least I refuse to dwell on them too long - my supportive family helps to remind me of the positives when I get "moody" around them... lol.
I'm grateful for my sleeve and determined to meet my goals! My two oldest children are getting married next year and I want to be able to rock those Mother of the Groom (In May 2014) and Mother of the Bride (September 2014) dresses and make them proud! I'm wanting to get to 170 by May (9 months from now and 85 lbs... I think it's possible) and down to my goal weight of 150 by September (20 more lbs in four months). That would be meeting my goal weight in 14 months from surgery. From 296 starting out to 150 - total loss of 146 lbs.... Like being "half the woman" I was..lol... whew!!! It's not going to be the easiest journey but my sleeve is the best tool for the job!

I was 3.5 weeks out at my last weigh in and lost 14 pounds since surgery. It's kind of disappointing since I lost 11pounds in the first 10 days. I'm hoping the weight loss picks back up after my body adjusts to the new normal. Also, I only just got cleared to return to the gym, and will be much more active once the school year starts and I am back to work. Hopefully it will be faster!

Thanks ladies..it really helps to know I'm not alone in the "slow losers" category lol. I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, stay away from the scale and hope it starts moving again...SOON!!

I hope it starts moving for you too. I think all of out problems are we focus on what other people do and lose the focus in ourselves. I have decided not to worry that other people have list 40 pounds in two weeks. I'd rather lose slow then fast. I'm assuming I hit my stall and now all I can do is lose.

Congratulations! And I agree, you are beautiful! A person who can deliver such a mean and viscious comment and have it seem sincere must be a true B. Even if it was true in his or her opinion, what would be the purpose of saying it other than to make you feel lousy?

He turned 14 last Saturday. He is such a blessing and has such a big heart. We had a big party for him and my whole family got to come (they live out of state) and meet him. My sister and her husband have adopted five, so my family is very supportive has welcomed each with open arms. Most people think I'm nuts adopting as a single mom, and absolutely crazy for adopting a teenager with special needs but every child needs a family. It breaks my heart to see kids age out of the system with no one to turn to. I tell people no potty training, no diapers...I get to go straight to the good stuff

Ok, so its not exactly how it sounds but Friday I will finally become a mom... and it's a boy! I have been trying to adopt for over a year and he is coming to live with me this weekend. After four months of rushed evening visits and having to take him back after a weekend stay, he is finally coming home for good. This was one of the reasons I had the surgery--so that I could be a healthy and active mom. I still have a ways to go, but I feel better than I have in many many years. These last months have been life changing, and the surgery was the best thing I could have ever done for myself!

    Current 245.
    55lbs gone.
Remember the BMI and inches and feeling good are the most important. Bigger folks loose lots of pounds but as a % of body weight might not be as high of a % loss as someone who started lighter.
Keep up the great work everyone.

I've lost a total of 39 #'s since Feb 2013, because I was on the Dukan diet. But since surgery on 07/16/13, I've only lost 17 #'s. I just got out of a two week stall! It was beyond awful because my body was still trying to adjust to this new life. As a woman, my cycle is out of whack and so is the "regular" part of my digestion if you know what I mean. I actually lost a day of work over it. I have vowed that will never happen to me again. I've never been so sick in my life like that. Since Water and Fiber are fighting the Protein for space in my belly, it has really disturbed operations. I now have Fiber Choice sugar free chewable tablets, Fiber & Calcium gummy vitamins, Flintstones chewable complete Vitamins and B12 that dissolves under your tongue. Everything seems to be back to normal now and I'm feeling stronger by the day. As for what I'm eating now, it really hasn't changed much since from before. I was never a junk food junkie. Just a volume eater. So now I still eat healthy, just one ounce at a time about 5 or 6 times a day. It also helps that I am a borderline vegetarian. I don't eat beef or milk at all. I do love seafood, eggs and yogurt. I try not to eat cheese, because it's just binding. I love veggie burgers, black bean burgers, egg beaters and Almond Silk for my Protein Shakes. I cooked a 2lb butternut squash and froze little servings of it. Let one serving thaw out in the fridge for dinner time, sprinkle some pure cinnamon on it and it's so yummy. Eat it warm or cold. I just bought some fresh crab. Put that in little servings and freeze it. For special yummy treats, I love a frozen banana half, with a little bit of Silk and Peanut Butter. Blend it for a "frozen ice cream" treat. SF Choc pudding is good too! I will also make some frozen shake pops, which I love! Most people on here seem to complain about their shakes, but I love them. I have no problem with my whey shakes what so ever. And they are not fancy or expensive or organic. Just some cheapy brand I picked up at Walmart. So that's my update! Good luck to everyone out there! And don't get down about the stalls! You'll make it through!
