Straws - good, bad, or ugly?
My doc's plan says never again. He is also one of the leading surgeons. I just think it boils down to all Dr's are different and have differing opinions. Just like some would say the bypass is far better than the sleeve long term. I think it also comes down to how much data is available on each subject from case studies and such. They have not been performing the sleeve nearly as long as say the bypass. I am certain what is the norm today for recommendations will not be the norm 5 years from now.

Day 4 out of surgery
Congrats!! It only gets better from here! You will be fine! Just stick to the program chica!

Eggs!
That is exactly what I did. I now do not drink them as I am able to get what I need from food. Thank God! I was getting sick of the shakes.

Eggs!
I was the same way, I could only eat half of one but trust me it gets better!

Tolerated No Bubble guts scrambled

Alcohol
Alcohol YES please. Oh um yes I tolerate alcohol but not to the excess I was able to before sleeve. I have not touched a beer since pre surgery and never will. I now enjoy some wine a few times a week. Most I can drink in a little over a glass. I get bad headaches if I drink more than that now. Otherwise I had no issues.

Dr Nick Nicholson- Dallas, TX
In all honesty regardless you will likely feel differently after surgery about food. I could care less what we eat for thanksgiving or even if food is served. Not that I don't like T Day food but if I was told we were not doing a T-Day meal this year it would not bother me one bit. I just don't look at food in that way anymore.

According to them you can puree your meets and such. What I did was stuck to things like yogurt and beans. At about the end of week 4 I ate some ground beef no issue. I also ate lots of cheese. I was in no way going to puree some meat or anything for that matter.

For me with Dr. Nick week 3 was still liquid phase. On week four you start the puree stage which I believe was 3 weeks.

Keeping complications secret NO MORE!
Thank you for sharing. Sorry you are going through this as I just can't even imagine what it must be like. I am not at your stage yet and wonder how hard it will be to maintain but on the other hand I cant wait to get to the maintain part. I hope you are able to get this figured out with your upcoming Dr visits!
