I was sleeved on April 3rd my starting weight was 362 and I am at 293 so 69 pounds are gone. My working out has been sporadic at best so I really need to get my lazy butt to the gym...
The first three weeks I lived on protein drinks, broth, and water and had a hard time getting in the protein. When I went to the pureed stage I added in 1 New Whey protein shot to my diet to help get me there. They have 42 Grams of protein in 3.1 oz shot. I would suggest drinking it over about an hour time frame otherwise its to much protein all at once.
My doctors orders were as long as it can pass through a strainer you are OK. So I drank mostly muscle milk and things like it for the 3 weeks as directed. I am sure you will be fine.
I stuck to the plan until I hit the pureed stage after the first three weeks. When I was suppose to puree my food I stuck to only soft foods (fish was my friend!) and just chewed really well.
Hello everyone, I was sleeved on April 3rd 2013 and like many of you I have been heavy pretty much my entire life. In High school and early college it was not a huge deal as I played football and I could eat a house and still stay the same weight and as a lineman I needed some "bulk". After football was over for me though I still ate like I was playing and the pounds just packed on one after another.
3ish years ago I started looking at WLS and had to go on the 6 month diet and at that time I was 418 pounds. I proceeded to lose 130 and at the half way mark to that I decided I didn't need the surgery. Fast forward to this year I ended up gaining back till I was at 362 and decided I had enough of the up and down.
At the first doc visit I was 362 then day of surgery after the 2 week pre op diet I was at 343. Today I am at 296 for a total of 66 pounds so far. Right now my goal is to get to 240 and then see where I am and decide if I need to lose more or not.
The surgery was uneventful for the most part except for the usual uncomfortable feelings that come with it. I have also been lucky in that I have not been sick from anything I have ate and hope it stays that way.
I am in the Wylie area and would like to join in on this group for sure! I am also willing to travel (within reason) as well. Evenings during the week are best for me as weekends can get hectic.
