  1. Wow, thank you for sharing this story and for your honesty. It inspires me to be honest with myself about my food habits. Just curious to hear how you are doing now?

Buying Ramen seasoning without the Ramen?

I'll put celery and onion in my bouillon, simmer and then remove it; tastes pretty good
  3. wishing everyone well having surgery this week!!! My first few days were very difficult with regard to nausea but now I am feeling good and each day is better than the last. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!!

    Lack of Support

I too was frustrated with the judgment that was coming my way. I was sleeved on 7/9 and honestly it was the hardest thing I have ever done. Keep coming on and writing the support here is awesome. I have realized that their judgments and fears are about them, not me... This will change your life and as tough as this week has been I would do it again. Best of luck to you!!!!

    protein..4 days post op

I was sleeved on 7/9 and am having the same difficulty. Everything but water tastes pretty disgusting to me and causes bloating. I have found that walking right after I drink is somewhat helpful; I am just going to keep trying, figure each sip is a bit more protein
  6. 2 days to go; starting to get nervous. Ha ve been doing the pre-op diet for two weeks and actually thought of eating off the plan. So this is my first experience of many to come when I am stressed and unable to reach for food to cope. Thanks for being here; I feel better after reading some posts...oh and stayed on plan!
  7. best of luck to everyone and congrats on insurance auth's!!!!! July 9th is coming up fast for me!!!!!
  8. Woo Hoo!!!! Best of luck to you too!!!!
  9. I'm set for July 9th!!! Have some protein shots, B12, multi, biotin (to prevent hair loss I've read about), D3, bouillon, sugar free ice pops, jello, and some shakes. Still need to pick up a new scale and flavorless protein powder. Figure I won't be eating that much the first week. Good luck to those having surgery this week!!!!
  10. I feel guilty as well; sometimes I too think about the possibility of death and leaving my son. I am choked up just writing this. It is the one thing that makes me want to cancel it all. But then I remind myself about my mother and the extensive list of health problems that she has secondary to obesity (HBP, diabetes, knee problems, heart problems, etc...) it is like looking in a crystal ball to my future. I know this is different from the difficulties that your family has faced but obesity too is a disease and it isn't crazy to opt for a surgery that could give you the chance to have a long healthy life. Don't think we can necessarily rid ourselves of this feeling; it's part of being a good mom and loving member of your family. I hope you find peace with your decision. All the best to you on your upcoming surgery!!!

    First follow up post op

    Congratulations!!
  13. Surgery date was moved to July 9th; guess this is how it's supposed to happen

  14. thank you Erin, being aware of the possibilities doesn't scare me, just helps me mentally prepare I too would rather know and be relieved when it didn't happen. Found out today that my surgery is postponed a week as the doctor is on vacation. Very disappointed but I guess it will happen when it is supposed to. I think I am being forced to accept that I can't control every aspect of this process; have to give some of it to the universe
