  1. OK...so I will be traveling soon, with my lap band, should I be concerned with the metal detectors sounding off ? Will I need a Dr.'s note or something?? Anyone out there know the answer?? Thanks!
  2. Well.....I have a question and have searched first to see if someone else had it to. Will my bad make the metal detectors go off at the airport??? I have not traveled yet and am curious if I will need a Dr.'s note or something......
  3. Hi..I can totally relate to you! I am feeling the same thing, except I was banded July 07 and only have lost a total of 40 lbs! I know part of it is me...I need to seriously seek group counseling or something to get me going again..to feel as excited as I once was when I got banded. Overall, I have managed to keep the weight off, but I know I should be losing weigh more!!!! Tell me how you do and what you plan to do maybe it will inspire me! Roc
  4. How about anyone suffering from "heartburn" ?? It seems to have gotten worse after my 3rd fill. But, I'm not so sure if that is the reason or just the foods i eat.
  5. Try Dr. Selim out of KU Medical Center/ he is also affiliated w/ WTLSC in Overland Park!
  6. Hey All, I'm a 7/17/07 bandster and so far have ONLY LOST 15 LBS. I can't say I'm being a great girl about it, I do overeat overdrink those empty calorie foods...I don't even feel like I even have a band on...I want to feel more restricted and really begin to see the weight come off.......
  7. I;m a 7/17 bandster, too and have only lost 10 lbs. I understand that the first couple of weeks are for healing, but it seems I read how many others are losing rather quickly even before the 1st few fills.... I feel like I'm eating more during the evenings, because the mornings for me are easy slimfast for breakfast, and another for lunch....But once dinner arrives, I start picking here, then picking there.....it's mushy stage right now, but I'm more hungry in the latter part of the day....HELP!!!!
  8. I was banded on 7/17, had my 1st glass of wine 7/29....Although, I'd much rather have had a Corona!
  9. WOW! It seems everyone is losing rapid amounts of weight! I am only 8 days post-op and have lost maybe 5 lbs. Istill feel very bloated at times almost like I'm retaining water. It was clear liquids for about the 1st 5 days, now it's full liquids. I don't feel very hungry, so that is a good thing. I guess I AM SO ANXIOUS and want to start losing quicker...) Way to go everyone!
  10. Hey I'm a teacher too, and was just banded 7/17. We begin classes 8/15, but need to be in before that 8/9! I'm a little worried about just getting around. The soreness is going away, now I worry about the moving around. (I teach pre-school kids) I guess I'll just see how that goes....
  11. Hi all I'm 4 days post op and can finally get around a little better! The liquids have not been so bad. What I am dealing w/ is itchiness around the incisions. Anyone else? Plus, I guess a little nervous to leave the house. Maybe it's too soon anyhow. I've kinda been moping around since the 17th. Anyone else feel that way? Maybe it's too soon anyhow...let me know what ya think????
  12. Congrats! I was banded 7/17 and still have some pain, like when getting out of bed or from a sitting position. I have this very heavy bloated feeling, I hoep it goes away soon. I'm on full liquid diet now, not so bad, either. I ask myself though, "did I do the right thing?" And the response I get is when I start to really begin to lose, I won't be asking myself that anymore ) Good luck to you...
  13. Hi all I'm post op i day, too and am really sore! I feel the tightness in the chest, but am feeling heartburn. Any of you got the heartburn. I've been sticking to chicken broth, jello, and Kellogs 2o drinks. I'm walking, too, but still feel really sore. Please tell me things get better and how soon should I expect it to get better???
  14. Hey Lucky 7's I was finally banded yesterday 7/17!! The only pain I'm having is when I get up from a sitting position or from laying down. I'm wondering since I like to sleep on my stomach and side, how long will I be able to go back to my sleeping position. LAst night was a miserable one, I did manage to sleep on my side, but turning from one side to another was tough!!
  15. Hey July bandsters!! Ready or not here I come....I go in on the 17th to be a "banded woman"...I am really nervous about the anesthesia(sp) only because I have never ever been in any kind of a surgery before that requires me not to be awake!! Any words about the whole being under and the feeling you get after you wake up???
