  1. Tiny? What about 0 or 00 at that height? Shoot the sizes now are off ... that's not that tiny.
  2. Find a good heme and do the IV infusions. That helps. I have enough GI issues that Iron doesn't do well with me either. Not the best choice, but it beats sickness.
  3. I am so very happy to see posts like this. Thank you. Yes, very true. I happened to have had a doctor who appears not to know the complications from bariatric surgery. If it wasn't for the research, we wouldn't have known what the story was.
  4. Did they do anything with exercise?
  5. What about the protein powders? I have pill problems, that is what I use.
  6. They can also be used to praise and help others on the boards. Not only are you not looking for food but you are providing "food" for those who need it.
  7. There is no way around it. You are going to have to exercise.
  8. ""Sometimes people just liked you better when you were fat. When you didn't speak up for yourself and didn't have self confidence and your world revolved around them, not around you."" Yes ma'am! That for sure is true. Especially when you handle differences in a polite, mature manner.
  9. Ok I don't want to go into specifics but I work/live/friend people of all backgrounds/financial statuses. I came from the "hood" as my city has been called. I still go to the same stores, etc. as I did before. I make more than I did before but still shop like I used to. I'm still the same person no matter what or where I shop. I have relatives that can't shop at Neiman Marcus. That's ok by me. I still love them. That's the way your peeps should be. Any peep.
  10. One thing a lot of people are missing is that a lot of people are bigger than they used to be. So not everyone in the gym is 20 something and size 2.
  11. "Is their opinion more important than my health? No way." Yes Lord! Bottom line, if your opinion is to be negative of someone trying to do something to get healthier, then you need to be talking to a counselor. Lots of people don't attempt to do anything. Why can't we encourage those who ARE taking steps to do so? "Another thing I discovered is that if I put my earphones in on my way in from the car, it's like being in a quasi-invisible bubble! No one yacks at you with headphones on," The problem is that you don't hear people like me who encourage the non stereotype gym people on. Not everyone out there is going to cram you. Some may have been in the same position you were and want to pass on blessings. People like me.
  12. I think you can check Vega (LOVE), Garden of Life (GREAT), Plant fusion (YEP), Puritan's Pride, Ultimate, Sun Warrior (GREAT), Amazing Grass (I think I saw that at Whole Paycheck or Heritage ...), Twinlabs, and doggone ... Nutiva and Life's Basics. That's a good one if you don't have the $$ for Vega on the off payweek. Oh and Tera's whey is a new one at Whole Paycheck.
  13. Very interesting. Well said. What is even harder is having normal weight and malnutrition.
  14. My guess: weakening of the staple line. Freak occurances, possibly from the stomach organ itself losing the adhesion
  15. Good Lord yes. I have the worst luck. I've had problems. I would still tell people to go get the surgery. I had GI issues before and one of them didn't go away and maybe caused the other problems. I would still say get the surgery. Holy cow ... come on people, we have greater risks of dying from obesity related diseases, a worse quality of life then if we get the surgery, including issues. You see about a handful of us who really have problems. What are you willing to risk? Shorter life and lower quality or taking a chance that a boatload of others do and be healthier and enjoy life better?
  16. Girlfriend listen to me: Your money is the SAME size and color as those skinny people. You know how they got skinny and stay that way? By not caring what some other person with a hangup has and getting in there and working it! You will have role models in front of you to keep motivated. I didn't care. I was in a gym for college age people. I got out there walking and then cheering on any one else larger. I then kept working it until I was down girlfriend ... do not under any circumstances, after you've come this far, let someone with a small mind interrupt your Quest to be healthier.
  17. There is like a no fog for speedos. I've been using the Vanquisher 2.0's. Never had a problem. Did you get them fitted right? There is an anti fog solution that Speedo has.
  18. Is it possible yes. Depends on several variables. Get the % for leak rates and then give them the percentages of death from staying obese. Depends on bougie size and when it was done, because things are safer now than they used to be. That should change their minds because the incidents of late leaks is less than that of dying of obesity. Better quality of life also.
  19. Did you check into the options? Have you based that on price or the quality of the surgeons and aftercare?
  20. The ones I've seen in wheat tend to only be slightly different nutritionally from the regular pasta. Compare the labels and see what you come up with.
  21. Put the salad dressing on the side. I never get a salad without it.
  22. Have you checked your BMI and insurance, etc?
  23. YAY! Same here. I swim in a UV pool so its not the same as a regular pool. I still use them. If you need the ear/nose plugs get them too. Wait ... forget the nose plugs. Get a decent cap and get a proper fitting suit. Yes, they're meant to be worn tight for a reason. You'll be fine. Everyone has them for a reason. It can become a real pain in the butt otherwise.
  24. Sticking my nose in here, if you can't swim or never have, you can practice a few things. First of all getting your face in the Water. Holding your breath and breathing out under water and then coming up for air. Ya gotta get used to it. So you can hold off on lessons if you are willing to do some of the work first and then be ready to get in.
  25. I keep trying to go the bottom and it doesn't work. My problem is mental in that ... I'm a swimmer not a diver. There's just the automatic roll arms kick legs mindset that I can't seem to overcome. The lifeguards were quite amused. Really swimming is the best sport. You get resistance training and aerobic training with no ripping up your joint. Ok ... I did have a shoulder issue once but swam thru it.
