sherry s. got a reaction from JeanaLuvsKisses in July 2013 - Post Op Thread
Updating... Surgery was July 10th. Started this journey at 236 lbs. Surgery weight was 210 lbs, 5 months post op weighing in at 161.6 lbs. That's a 75 lb weight loss total. 65 lbs since surgery. My stomach doesn't match the rest of my body, all the remaining weight I need to lose is in my gut I'm 5'3", with a large hanging belly.

sherry s. got a reaction from kw2walker in july 2013 sleevers
OK ! Update..... I was sleeved July the 10th, and came home morning of the 11th. After taking a nap got up and walked on the treadmill for a mile . Focusing on removing the gas in my shoulder, and when I lay down the gas in my chest. At the hospital I was able to tolerate ice chips, Popsicles . The next morning the gave me premiere vanilla shake and sipped on about 3oz. Before it got warm. No nausea... Home started right away with power aide zero with half scoop of injury unflavored. Sipped in 10oz sippy cup. Tried sf Jello tasted plain, blended hu p a pure Protein frosty chocolate milk shake made with unsweetened light vanilla almond milk. Awesome finished it by the end of the day. Kept it frozen till needed more. That night I got a coffee cup/ candle warmer , made up some broccoli cheese Soup with scoop of injury and warmed it hip and kept half on the warmer next to me while watching movies and sipped on it over 1 1/2 hours. I'm tolerating things well I guess, my tastes buds seem the same I guess . This a learning process and and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi everyone! Alabama here . My date is July 10th and 14 day pre-op starts this Wed. 26th. At least they are allowing me Protein meat with veggies for supper. I already have been preparing myself and lost 23lbs since april starting this journey... So nervous, which I heard is normal. Family doesn't really care what I do. Heck I'm 36 and my kids are in their early teens, it's time for me and my health. Lol

My 19th birthday is July 2nd. Surgery is July 8th.
This liquid diet is harder then I thought especially when I go out with the family.. I just keep telling myself next summer will be better.

Well I am already three days post op. I continue to do well. I have no hunger. I am able to get in all my fluids and Protein. I just set myself up a schedule and sip sip sip all day. I am still tired but not as much as yesterday. I have mild pain when changing position from laying to standing. My big problem is that I have developed an allergy to the surgical glue. My whole tummy is red and inflamed. Some spots are blistered. Ice packs help. I have to call in the am to see if I can take some Benedryl for the itch. Other than that it has been smooth sailing. I am so lucky. Because I was a band to sleeve revision, there was a greater chance for complications. I really thought it would be much worse.

sherry s. reacted to LipstickLady in lets be honest, 1 week post op
I will be a month post op tomorrow and don't eat regular food. Personally, I love my life and my family and friends love me. I don't need to play Russian roulette with my newly sleeved tummy for a few bites of food that won't mean a darned thing to me an hour after (unless I am writhing in pain). I got this surgery to bring myself back down to a healthy weight and I am old enough (and intelligent enough) to follow my doctor's orders.
That said, do what you will and enjoy! Pass me a soda and some buffalo wings, please.
