That I have lost 18, 13 preop 5 since surgery. In fact, my jumping up and down is simply a side effect to getting sleeved!!! Best decision yet.
Lol- live laugh love! Thanks for the support and advice.

Been about twice now. Both times ordered sashimi - like everything else, I brought leftovers home and got two meals out of them. I was told to avoid rice so i have been. No rolls.
How did i eat it? i used chopsticks. A fork would have looked silly.

I forgot to add that I freeze them as popsicles and are a great treat!!! If you do buy them at the Vitamin SHOPPE, have them sleeve the bubble wrap so the don't clank. They have it and some of them get stingy with it. But if I'm paying $4.19 a bottle, I am getting them sleeved In bubble wrap!!

I had my surgery on a Tuesday, and returned to my desk job full time the following Monday. I used 4 sick days. I felt fine. I probably could have returned on that Friday.

I had surgery on July 1st and back at my desk job today, July 8th. I think it all depends on what you do and how accommodating your job is.

You'll be absolutely fine! I was back at work on Day 10 post op (desk job w/elevator use also) - other than some residual sleepiness, I was pain-free and good to go!

I haven't had my surgery yet but have scheduled it. When i went to a mandatory informational meeting I went in thinking the band was the right thing for me. I knew someone else who had the band and was also doing OK. Our speaker (my surgeon) was late to the meeting. When he did finally come in he apologized and said that he had just come from a surgery where he had to remove the band from someone because of erosion! He said it was not a pretty sight.
He went into detail about other WLS that were available and after doing tons of research i have chosen the sleeve.

I highly recommend WW's too. I did it three times and lost weight. 50 pounds twice, 30 the third time around. Of course, just like with Medifast, Phen Fen, Atkins, seeing a nutritionist weekly who had some sort of plan where you only eat certain things on certain day and can only eat this with this and that with something else....I lost another 30 pounds. Before WLS, I should have weighed what I did when I was five years old. Oh, except every time I went back to eating normal and not counting points, or drinking two shakes on a 800 calorie a day, doctor supervised diet.....I gained it all back, and then some. Diets do not work unless you can do them for the rest of your life and with me, if I am hungry, starving....I'm going to eat. It's that simple. WLS is by far, the best decision I've ever made, it was life changing. Never in my wildest dreams could I have dreamt how exciting things could be. There is a lot of mental stuff, I STILL don't see "ME" like others do. I don't see the OLD me, but I don't see what others do. I "THINK" I eat a lot, in reality I do not. I "THINK" there is no way I can slip into a size four jeans. I can. The list is endless, but it's all small potatoes!

I have the $17 shake blender from Walmart, I believe it's a Hamilton beech, it has the cups that you blend in and then use to drink your shake, or Soup. Worked for shakes, Soups, and I even did iced Decaf coffee with my vanilla Protein Shake. I also bought small baby food dishes at the dollar store, I have small colorful bowls with lids, and small plates. They came with small cups as well, and I have used them mostly for storage of left over shakes, and soup. I did buy myself a nice coffee mug, and a really comfy pillow for my stomach during recovery. Also get yourself a nice warm throw, I was cold all the time the first few weeks post-op, and figured it was from the lack of calories. Now at 8 weeks out, I use a saucer for my meals, and don't have to store my foods separately since I'm eating the same foods as my family. I didn't want to spend a ton on special dishes, and blenders as I knew I would only need them for a few months.

liquid and solid measuring cups, a couple of little dishes that you love to eat out of (I have some wide-mouthed mugs with handles that I use and tea cup plates), a shaker with a little wire whisk type ball in the bottom to mix Protein Shakes, a good blender (I use a Vitamix but there are lots of good ones on the market), a stick blender to puree Soups, a food processor (nice to have not a must have), a registration with myfitnesspal.com, good walking shoes, a couple of non-BPA Water bottles that you like, a fancy glass that you like drinking out of to make water drinking a nice experience. The only thing I went out and bought out of all of this is the shaker for Protein shakes.< /p>

I've been on the boards since April, researching and learning all I can about the sleeve procedure and post-op lifestyle. I've gotten such amazing support from everyone here; my questions were answered and there was always helpful information to be found. I woke up today (SURGERY DAY!!!) feeling pretty well-prepared. I've done all my classes, bought Alex's Big Book of the Gastric Sleeve (one of the best 10-dollar purchases I've ever made), read, discussed, read some more. Last night I did my bowel prep (yay), drank Water till my eyeballs floated in their sockets, polished my fingers and toes a deep "vampire red" (gotta feel pretty), and went to bed. Slept great.
Yup. I woke up ready today!
I decided to flip through my pre-surgery binder (something my surgeon's office provides) while I wait to head out the door.
I went to the "Preparing for Surgery" section.
"We recommend that you shower in the morning on the day of surgery, but do not use any moisturizers, creams, lotions, or makeup."
    Okay. So far, so good.
"Please bring your eyeglasses and a case for them if possible."
No problem--my ten dollar CVS magnifiers will be fine.
    "Remove your jewelry."
    Done.
    "Do not wear nail polish."
    *looks down at fingers*
    Oh, bloody damn !!!
The lesson learned here is: pay attention to the details! My fingertips are now naked.
    (I'm leaving the toenails painted--I'm a rebel.)
Good luck to all my fellow July 1st sleevers today!

I'm only four weeks out. pizza used to be one of my favorite foods and there was a time in my past that I could eat half of a large one. Today I see myself passing over the pizza for a better Protein source.
Can someone pass me a box of tissues?
