It has been a very good day. I have walked 1.5 miles. I got moved to my stage 1 diet. I have had chicken broth, Jello, iced tea, and popsicles. I have little to no pain nor nausea. This has been way better than I prepared myself for. Hopefully I will go home in the am. I wish that your surgeries all go as smoothly as mine.

I was 9 months post op as of June 14th. I have lost 134 pounds since the day of surgery. Pics are from day of surgery and this morning.
I still want to lose another 82 pounds or so..but am so ahppy with my results so far. Weight loss has slowed down a lot, but its still coming off.. I am very dedicated to following and tracking my food... I stay within 800-1000 cals a day, at least 60-80 grams of Protein and try to stay under 40 carbs. If i do my work outs which consist of boxing/kickboxing classes at a boxing gym then I up the calories and protein..
I take lots of walks with my husband and dog, the more I lose the more active I become.
I hope this helps people who start out with a large amount to lose like myself and are unsure if this can work for them. It can work for you if you use it as a tool to help you. It comes with hard work and will power, but it can be done...
I can't say it enough, but I LOVE my sleeve and the new outlook I have on life

After 6 months of supervised diets my insurance coordinator submitted my paperwork last Friday. The surgeon's office called today to tell me that I was approved and to set up a date. I will be sleeved on August 8th!! I am excited and scared and overwhelmed all at the same time.
I have a two year old and this is going to be hard on her when I can't pick her up. My mind is spinning. I am a Type A personality and always like to have a plan!

Had my EGD Tuesday. Everything went well. I guess I was a feisty un cooperative patient under anesthesia. Oops. No ulcers, or hernia. I am cleared for surgery!
Today is the first day of my pre op diet. So far, it's going ok. The Protein drink my Dr.'s office doesn't taste too bad. But I do not suggest smelling the actual powder....Not pleasent!!! I got the vanilla flavor because they were out of the chocolate. vanilla was good too, but they suggested to mix it with light chocolate soy milk for a chocolate flavor. That's good as well. Besides 3 shakes a day I can have light yogurt, sugar free Jello, a lettuce salad with 1 tbsp. of fat free dressing. At least I get to have some crunch. All liquids might have been rough for 2 weeks. The weekend may be hard for me, especially with family gatherings for fathers day.
I can't believe that 2 weeks from today I'll be sleeved. I know that this is the best decision for me and my health. But anytime I have any doubts reading all of the posts immediately makes me feel better about my decision and makes me excited to start my new life. I'm thankful to have found this blog and for everyone sharing their stories, questions and answers along the way, and success. Great motivation!!!

With surgery just a few days away, I decided to write this post and PROMISE to post my immediate pre and post op experience. I have followed several "pre sleevers" only to have them stop posting once they had their surgeries. I get it. We all have lives and have those things that come up. I place no blame. But, I also know that there are others, who have upcoming surgeries, that will benefit from seeing the experience of others posted immediately. If I can calm the nerves of just one person, well then I would be happy.
So to my fellow June Sleevers....... I promise to post my daily experience (God willling..... and I soooooo hope he is!) on this thread for the entire month of June.
In closing, I hope you will join me on this journey. Cheers to a new you!!!!!!!

I am a few days from being 1year out and down 125 lbs, my old body does not even compare to my new one but my favorite thing is sitting in my husbands lap, we have been married for 32 years and I'm smaller now then when we married. The worst thing is trying to get all my liquids in every day.

Today, I am One Month, Two Days out from my Mommy Makeover (Tummy tuck, butt lift, fat transfer, Lipo, breast reconstruction, and lift, as well as augmentation) with Dr Niebles ( Neibles) in TJ Mexico.
This man is a miracle worker, and I feel like I am finally in the body that I was meant to be in my whole life!
I had my gastric sleeve May 15, 2012.
Lost my weight (110lbs) right away, and then stayed at my goal and held for 6 more months until May of this year, and booked my body reconstruction with not so high expectations of the outcome. Every day I look at my body and I can't believe that it's mine! I am finally in the body that I belong in! I am about 10 more lbs down. I could NOT be happier with my new body and my new LIFE!

I didn't hide it from anyone. I took the approach that I'm doing this for me. Most were supportive some are not. The ones that aren't. Screw them. Most are loving the transformation. Was much easier to not have to remember what I told and who I told. I just don't give a rats ass about those who look down on it. Never been happier and people say I glow.

I felt the same at first. Now, I'm 6 months out, and I don't give an f... People can think what they want, the sleeve worked for me and I am proud of my results. The majority of people say hateful crap because their jealous and threatened by you. I've lost a few close friends over my sleeve, but obviously they weren't that great if I lost them so easily.
You may hesitate now, but give yourself time to get use to it

I am still in the beginning stages of this process.. but I was just thinking. My husband is part of the my weight problem I believe. He is very emotionally abusive and bipolar. He throws the words fat A$$ and fat b!=ch at me in every argument. Oh I didn't mention he is almost 300 pounds himself. Anyway, I have been with him for 20 years and we have 4 beautiful children together, but I really feel like the new me going to want to throw him out with the other 85% of my stomach. I just don't think he realizes how his words hurt not only me, but the kids and I have a feeling once I feel better about me, he's gone.
I wanted to know if anybody else had this issue?

Hey everyone... Just wanted to check in and say hello!! I started my journey over a year ago to research sleeve surgery and had the surgery in March 2013 with Fernando Garcia thru Ready4Achange.com in Mexico which was a very simple, easy and no regrets experience... I owe him a huge thank you for giving me such a gift! Im down over 50 pounds today and I feel amazing! 50 more to go to my goal but Im happy just to be this far! Some days I am a tiny bit more tired than others but most other days, I have this crazy energy and want to walk for miles.... but all days I have this new passion for life and well being!! I love sharing my journey with others, especially those who arent even aware of this surgery! It gives me a way to hopefully empower others to get this same fantastic journey started if they so choose because I hope others feel as good as I do. Not only do I feel and look good in clothing, but I really truly watch what I eat, not only to stay on the thin side but to stay on the healthy side!! This is the best nutrition and health education ever. When I look back on my old diet... What was I thinking? Id be more than happy to answer any questions, I just wish for everyone the same feeling of independence, self worth and fulfillment of a goal this is givng me. This is not an easy way out, daily it is work, but so fulfilling!! People who have never had a weight issue will never know the dark places being obese can take you to.... They dont understand us ... But I love seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and will never look back ....but I will also never forget where I once was!! Happy Sleeving! Also, attached is my so far before and afters and a little reminder I use daily of how to stay on track!!

Man am I pumped. Down 60lbs since feb. 27. Training hard and getting ready for some serious mountain bike races this summer. Dropped 2 of my riding buddy's, both serious mountain bikers and the oldest one 10 years younger at the 18 mile mark today on a 28 mile ride. Finished the double loop in record time and holding my own at the ripe age of 42. Gym work outs are coming together nicely, body is changing exactly how i want it to. Love my sleeve!!! Wish I had done this years ago! No lack of energy issues here! Keep working fellow sleevers! Enjoy the journey!!!

WooHoo!! I had kind of hoped to have the first 30 pounds gone at the 4-week mark, but I needed another couple of days...so 30 in 30 (which works out to 20% of my excess weight). I have been so fortunate to have a complication-free post-op, both physically and mentally, and signs point to a "sleeve of steel" for me :-) The "hardest" thing for me so far is to get the 64 oz of Fluid (which was also an issue pre-op as I just don't tend to feel thirsty and so can go hours w/o taking in fluids and not realize it) as well as having a short attention span with food...I'll eat something and it will taste delish and will settle well, but then that same thing doesn't seem appealing the next day which leaves me looking for new foods quite often, and not doing much with the inevitable leftovers generated from such small portion sizes. Now at 4 weeks out it is time to get serious about getting back into the gym and gettin' my sweat on on a consistent basis...
