  1. Probably more crazy than brave but thanks !!
  2. I could honestly probably use one more day but I don't have a choice. So after having by band removal and sleeve in one procedure Friday afternoon I'm heading back to work today. Pain is very mild but still some issues with gas and swelling. Overall recovery for me has been pretty easy, I hope others out there have similar experiences especially if work Is an issue.
  3. I should also prob add that I had my Lapband of 6 years removed at the same time.
  4. I had surgery Friday and so far today I haven't taken any pain meds, I did go to the grocery today though and did some laundry so I'm a little sore now and I feel like some of the gas is coming back around. I'm planning on going back to work tomorrow and I know I will be exhausted but I don't really Have a choice.
  5. Did anyone feel hungry right after surgery? Like literally in the recovery room ? Maybe I'm feeling something else from everything they did in there or maybe it's just in my head lol. I'm still in hospital but hoping to go home today. Doc said surgery went great, and I'm feeling pretty good unless I cough. I even refused my pain meds this morning. Now just hoping it continues
  6. @ fit2btied, Ill have to let you know, surgery is tomorrow !!????????
  7. Fast food at 5 1/2 weeks, I will barely be on mushy by then ????????
  8. My doc says one multi vitamin chewable and B12 but does not forbid the Advil/ibuprofen ect after the first couple months and he has Never had a leak.
  9. 6 yrs 1 month and 16 days ago you changed my life and I want to thank you for that. I would have never got to where I am without you. We've had a good run of it though as with any relationship we've had our ups and downs. You've been my best friend and my worst enemy but I've never once regretted knowing you. its bittersweet but this love/hate relationship is not working for me anymore. Tomorrow we must part ways though please don't take it personally. Ill never forget all you've done for me but I have to do what's right for me and my health. Goodbye old friend. Hello new friend ...I'm hoping that Iv made the right decision and anxious to start a new chapter.. Surgery tomorrow at 12:30 ????????????
  10. Any tool can work or not work, it's true you have to work on WHY you eat just as much if not more than what you eat.
  11. I had lap band in 2006 and loved it ! I lost all my weight and have kept it off with the exception of 20lbs that I let creep back on knowing I was going to revise to the sleeve. I have never once regretted my decision for the band. It changed my life. Many people have been unsuccessful just as with every other procedure out there, you have to find what works for you. I am revising because I'm ready for a change and a new stage in my life. Iv had some issues with things getting stuck and some reflux on and off at times but overall my experiences have been positive. At this point my concerns are more about the band 20 yrs from now and what it could do to my stomach over time.
  12. Thank you all !! I can't wait to start my new journey .. Pain free
  13. Just attempted to eat breakfast and threw it up 3x .. Please tell me that stuck feeling and the throwing up goes away after its taken out ..
  14. Surgery is scheduled for 20th, I'm having my lap band removed and doing the sleeve same time, I was wondering how bad bloating is after surgery and how long it lasts. Also I asked this on another forum but anyone here juice ? I'm hoping to make it a regular part of my post op and overall life to be sure I get in enough fruit and veggie servings.. "Fat, sick and nearly dead" has made me a believer ! Lol
  15. I'm not yet sleeved but I did maintain a nearly 100 lb weight loss for the last 6 years with my lap band and never once wrote anything down. In fact I refuse to live my life that way. Focus on health and your relationship with food and look into why you eat and not just what you eat and find what works best for you and you will be fine
  16. Found out today that my doc requires 4 weeks liquids, 4 weeks mushy and 4 weeks soft .. That's 3 months of not chewing !!!
  17. I should maybe also say I'm only 25 lbs from goal and have been running on and off for the last few years, maybe this would make a difference ?
  18. Anyone think this would be possible ?
  19. I'm self pay, if I don't wake up with a sleeve I'm screwed
  20. I worry about this too! Crazy I know considering I spent my whole life worrying about not losing lol. I'm currently 165 and surgery Is scheduled for 9/20. I got down to 139 with my band and looked sickly. My ideal is 145 so I'm worried about going below that.
  21. I was banded in 2006 and lost 80lbs, I have kept all of it off except for about 15 lbs that I continue to fluctuate on and off. I will be sleeved on September 20.
  22. Were you only juicing fruits? Most of the recipes I have found have both fruits and vegetables and some only vegetables. I'm honestly looking for the health benefits even more than weight loss. I'm 20 lbs from my goal and I'm about to go from band to sleeve next month. With the band I found myself eating so much junk (sliders) I truly want this to lead to a healthier way of eating and with limited space I was hoping juicing would make it easier for me to get in healthier foods. I'm was also hoping it would give me a lot of variety as my doc requires 30 days of liquids post op .
  23. Thinking about trying to incorporate juicing into my post op .. Anyone have any experience with this ?
  24. These are All such great suggestions !! Thank you so much
