Medication, Vitamins after sleeve?

Can y'all give me the run down I the kinds of Vitamins that you will have to take after the sleeve.

What kind? How often and do you only have to take it for a little while or forever?

And I take Motrin/Advil for my joint pain... It works great... Will I still be able to take Advil after the sleeve?

Thanks

I don't take vitamins, a lot do I guess. I eat well balanced- all my labs are perfect.I do supplement my protein-- Odwalla, unjury,or the like. I take advil and alleve w food. Initally, for 3-4 months, you need to take liquid motrin.

You will love it !

I take (I'm 8 weeks out) a bariatric chewable mutivitamin every day, Calcium + Vit D daily and B 12 2x a week. I'm not sposed to take NSAIDS ever again (including Ibuprofin) but I do occasiaonlly (shhh, don't tell)

And yes, the Vitamins are forever. And you'll need your Vitamin levels checked like 2x a year forever also.

Good luck!

My dr requires me to take. A daily vitamin. A vitamin d. Calcium citrate. Sublingual b12. Biotin. From now on most likely. My iron was good so no xtra iron needed. And of course the 80-100 grms of protein.oh and he said I shouldn't ever use Motrin or aleve or any other insaids as it increases the chance of stomach bleeding Only Tylenol.

I just converted from lapband to sleeve on Thurs 9/12/13. Here are my Dr's recommendations.

Always take Protein first-need 60-75 Grams daily

No Advil, Motrin, Aleve ever again :(

Start the following immediately after surgery.

Multivitamin/mineral supplement chewable or liquid-must include at least 18mg Iron, selenium, copper and zinc. they recommend Bariatric Advantage but I tried these with my band and coudnt stand them so I bought Centrum Complete. 1/day (I couldnt start these till day 4)

Vitamin D 2000 IU/day-may already be in Multivitamin and calcium so check.

B-12 1000mcg 1 tab/3x's week

B1 50mcg 1 tab 3x/week

and Iron with vit C if you Dr recommends

Then after a month start

calcium citrate 500mg 3x/day

I will have all my labs followed and levels checked and we will alter accordingly but I presume I will take a multivit and calcium for life.

Good luck

My doc says one multi vitamin chewable and B12 but does not forbid the Advil/ibuprofen ect after the first couple months and he has Never had a leak.
