Question re: My Fitness Pal Tracking
I've been tracking calories, protein, etc. w/ My Fitness Pal. I also track my exercise. I noticed for the first time tonight that when you track exercise it subtracts from your daily intake. For example, I ate around 900 calories today (very low carb but high protein), but it said since I burned about 400 calories exercising, my net calorie intake was 500. Does that mean I can eat another 400 calories (which, to be honest, would be impossible). How do the rest of you handle this?

NSV
My wife, kids and I went for afternoon walk. We were out for a total of 45 minutes, 10 of which I was jogging... that's right, jogging. What an awesome feeling! I asked my wife if she thought she'd ever see me jogging again, and she said she knew deep down I'd get back to where I need to be. My sleeve is awesome, but my wife is the bomb!

Help - noy weight loss in 6 days ?
Similar thing happened to me. Keep on the plan, and one morning the weight will fall off. I "stallled" for about 5 days, then the next two days I lost 3 lbs. Follow the plan and the weight will come off.

Vacation tomorrow!
What an awesome outlook. I know you're going to do great. I'm jealous; I've never been to Alaska and I'd love to get up there. May have to put that on the bucket list for me and my wife.

I'm at the hospital
I was where you were 2 weeks ago. You can do this, and you're right, God is with you. Prayers sent!

How many incisions did your surgeon make?
I had five incisions and my drain site.

What should I pack?
Good luck tomorrow. You're going to do great. The most important thing I brought to the hospital was my own pillow. Also, bring a pair of comfortable slippers or shoes as you'll be walking around soon after surgery.

first party I went to since sleeved

Hang in there. It will get better!

August Sleevers
Great stuff! Sleeved on the 5th and down 15 lbs 8 days later. I'm like you; not a lot of pain and no pain meds since second day. I moved from clear to full liquids on the 6th day, and on Monday I get to move to soft food stage. I've decided I'm only going to weigh once a week, and Monday/Tuesday can't get here soon enough. I can tell a huge difference in my clothes already. Keep working hard and congrats on the new journey!

Advice
I'm 10 days post-op, and I am a food addict. Majory stress eater in a highly stressful job. Since the surgery, I really view food differently; in fact, my experience thus far has been to ignore food completely. It just doesn't pop in my mind like it used to. Now, this may be a "honeymoon" feeling, but I've been amazed at the mental side of things. Best of luck with everything!

bored with breakfast
Try http://www.kalynskitchen.com/. It's a southbeach diet recipe blog, but they have some great ideas for breakfast dishes.

Tell Coworkers?
Arts is correct. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. It's a personal choice. For me, I wanted everyone to know. No one has said anything to me (althought there's one person that is itching for the chance, but I'm not going to give it to her). At then end of the day, you're going to love the weight loss and not really care what anyone thinks!

Preperation
The most important thing for me was my own pillow!

NERVOUS!
I understand where you're coming from. Last Sunday night (8/4), I was crying as I put my little boy and little girl to sleep. On Monday morning, I was saying my hail marys and our fathers (like a good catholic). They took me in, and the next thing I knew I was sleeved and saw my smiling wife standing there. You can do this, and your life will be better. It's crazy... I'm only a week out, but I can tell how different I approach food. It's a bit like a weight off my back (or should I say my stomach). Good luck tomorrow, and good luck with your new normal!

Tears of joy
Awesome stuff. Yesterday, I was able to put on my wedding ring for the first time in three years. What an awesome feeling and my wife loved it. Congrats. I know how wonderful the feeling is!
