    Any Regrets?

I one MAJOR regret! I soooooo wish I would have been able to do this 20 years ago! There are challenges and you'll learn a tonne about yourself. But this is the best thing I've done for myself. good luck!

It happens sometimes. Ten days is enough time to get yourself back on track. Come up with a plan for what you will do the next time you are tempted. I know a lot of people stayed extra busy so they could be distracted. That worked well for me as well. Take a walk, call a friend, clean your closet, come up with a list of activities to distract yourself. You'll be so proud of yourself in ten days! Oh Lord this is true! My house has never been cleaner, and my dogs more loved and entertained, and my friends more socialized with. I did everything to avoid food and it totally helped!

    Gained Weight

I totally get it. Every time I hit a stall or a little gain like that I would think "oh my God this is it...my body is done losing". but then it would pick up again...lol I have been dancing up and down with the same 5 lbs for a month and have just started going down again. Patience is a virtue in this new life Just keep doing the right things, maybe track and see if there's something you can chance, otherwise, chill and enjoy the ride, because even when the scale isn't making you happy, your body is shrinking...it's pretty damn cool.

I did a 6 week preop - 3 weeks clean eating, 2 weeks full liquids and 1 week clears. During the clean eating I had a conference with a prepaid meal plan. I did the best I could, but was not 100%. As for the liquid phases, I stuck to them for a few reasons. A) I wanted my skin as loose as possible so there was no reason to not do the surgery laparoscopically. so my liver would shrink as much as possible, (same reason as A). C) a friend who had done the gastric bypass a year earlier than my sleeve told me her preop was the easiest diet she had ever done because she KNEW that weight was never coming back, and that's what I told myself on the bad days. In the last week of clear liquids I didn't think I could do it, but then I remembered that any food in the stomach could come up during surgery and I could die...also motivating. Good luck to you

    No Sex Drive....help!

    No Sex Drive....help!

I have noticed this, and I am willing to bet the farm that it's a shift in hormones. If you think about some of the other things we see after being sleeved like , fluctuating menstruation cycles, hair loss and skin reactions, these are hormone driven reactions to the changes in our bodies, so I think this is a very real hormonal response. For me, the hair loss has stopped and my skin is sorting itself out, so I am hoping the same thing happens with my sex drive

What People Will Say Now They Wouldn't Say Before

My mom told me "not to lose anymore weight" a while back. My response to her was "that's so funny because I only weigh 5 lbs less than when you took me to an obesity Doc back when I was 17 years old"...true story
  14. So lately there have been many family functions to deal with and many people are seeing me for the fist time since surgery. Often now, I am hearing from people, family and clients "you look great, but don't lose anymore weight", or some variation for this. I find it interesting since most people would never think to say, "don't gain anymore weight" or "don't get any fatter", although I know there are exceptions to that rule too. Anyone else experience this, what do you say to them?
