  1. It feels like I am losing very slowly...July-->October only 4 lbs... I guess this is why skinny people get so happy when they lose 5 lbs...it gets damn hard after awhile.
  2. I had surgery on May 15, 2013. Now I feel GREAT back to eating normal food and not hurting anymore. Just thought I would share the good news! Praise the Lord!

    Dizziness

I am getting this too now, I am 5 weeks out and my surgeon gave me permission to eat solid food. I feel exhausted in the day and when I stand up I get dizzy. I have a little pain in my left arm/shoulder like I pulled a muscle. Trying to figure out what it is...low blood sugar, leak, ketosis, or postural hypo-tension. I sent my doctor an email but after 5 on a friday I don't have much hope of getting an answer right away. If it gets worse I will go to urgent care. Follow up: The surgeon's office told me if I had a leak I would be in a lot of pain and in the ER room...so I will rule that one out. They think I got too much sugar or something like that..
  4. One day I was walking through the local grocery store in the chip and soda aisle and I smelled a terrible smell like rotting meat. I looked over at the man next to me and he had ulcerated diabetic feet and his cart was filled to the brim with chips and soda. I made a mad dash for the produce aisle and started to think things over. I was close to 290 pounds and had border line diabetes. My family has diabetics on both sides, mom, sister, aunts, grandmas...all of them suffer horribly from diabetes. Some members of my family have gone blind and have worse things happen to them because of the awful things diabetes does to the body. I decided I wanted to lose the weight so that I could avoid getting diabetes because it is a scary disease and so many people in my family have it. Eventually, I too would have it and be like the man in the chip and soda aisle if I didn't make a change or worse...perhaps blind too! So at that point I went to the doctor and begged for real medical help to lose the weight. I have been trying to control it unsuccessfully all of my life. Having access to medications, support, and nutritional training helped me lose 100 pounds before I got my sleeve. Now I am hoping that after my surgery I will be able to maintain a healthy weight for life and avoid Diabetes and other diseases that effect obese people.

    Just sleeved

I had to go to classes, appointments for a year to meet the bariatric protocol for my insurance. Stuff happened like my paperwork didnt get sent out by the doctor by my primary and the whole process took a long time. Starting to feel better now on my fifth day out. @ Sherrypep ouch! revision sounds scary I am hoping no more hospitals and surgeries for me. Be praying for you for a fast recovery.
  6. I just got my sleeve four days ago. Feeling much better now that I am home and away from the hospital. Fighting gas pain and soreness but otherwise doing great. Got my sleeve after waiting one year and attending hundreds of appointments, classes and stuff. l still feel like I didnt really know what to expect. So it takes about a month to feel normal again?
