    Mirena and Surgery Question

I got my mirena put in on Sept 4th and got sleeved on Sept 17th. No problems for me!
  3. Had my surgery last night! Was scheduled for 2pm but it took till 5:30, the patient before me had major issues and was in surgery before me all day. Not weight loss surgery though, thankfully! But I'm glad they turned out ok. I woke up in a lot of pain and very thirsty. Pain has subsided though. Doc says surgery went very well! I'm so glad it's all over with! Hope everyone who's had surgery is doing well and those who are coming up that their wait goes quickly! I don't post much but I love reading your stories! Nicole
  4. Hi everyone just wondering about the how the state disability worked for everyone. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 17 can I contact EDD now? or do I have to wait for the day of? For some reason I cannot find the answer to this on their site even though I was sure that's what I had read. Thanks everyone in advance!
  5. Starting my two week pre op diet officially on Tuesday, surgery is Sept. 17th. I'm feeling a bit nervous about this wondering if I'll have the energy to work. I'm on my feet all day running back and forth. I'm easing into it by starting today to see how I do. Getting nervous but very excited to start this new chapter of my life! Congrats to everyone who is having surgery this week! Hoping for quick easy surgery and recovery for all!
  6. Where is your surgery? I'm at El Camino in Mountain View on the 17th.
  7. I called them and they took all my information and assigned me a nurse case manager who called me back with the requirements. Those were the 6 month diet (weather with weight watchers, jenny craig, or with your doc) had to have seen doc at least 6 months and they didn't have to be consecutive. And they required a psych eval. When I started my BMI was 40.9 but since I've done the 6 months diet my BMI is more like 38 or 39 so with my insurance they require you to have at least 2 co-morbidities. And I do, mine are high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and pre diabetes. The insurance requirements for me were easy. It was the surgeon who asked for a ton more, he wanted me to see a nutritionist, get upper gi, blood work, ultra sound of abdomen, and an EKG. Once it was all done and paperwork in it was Aug 6, and insurance approved it today!
  8. Got my insurance approval and date today for September 17th!! With Dr. Feng at El camino hospital in palo alto, ca (i think). I'm so excited I was to scream it from the roof tops! This process took so long!
  9. Got my approval today and my surgery date!! September 17th!!
  10. Wow 5 days! That's awesome! Hope mine goes that quickly! Hope your surgery goes super smooth! Congrats!
  11. Wow! I can't believe they would try that on you! I have a nurse coordinator already, they gave me one when I called to say I was interested. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no hold ups. Of course my surgeon's assistant/nurse is not very good at calling back or contacting me. But I've found ways around her, haha! Thanks for you info!
  12. Hi my name is Nicole. I am in the process of getting VSG surgery. I have finished all the insurance and surgeron requirements. I just waiting for the insurance approval. Currently I'm 5'4" 230lbs, when I started the process in February I was 247. I have a question for people with United healthcare choice plus. How long did they take to respond to approve your surgery? If you were denied what was the reason? Thanks in advance!! Nicole
