Daddysgirl10 reacted to PsychoVGS in 5 Weeks Post-OP Still Teaching Myself to Eat Slowly
Relieved to hear others having trouble with eating slowly. I am 8 weeks out and consistently find myself in pain after eating. I think that eating too quickly makes it difficult to sense when I am full, so I end up eating beyond that point. I have got to SLOW down!

Daddysgirl10 reacted to TES in Are You a Half-Fast Loser?
PS--three pounds a week to me would be uber-fast! I guess it's all about perspective. It always fascinates me how people can have such similar weights, energy intake and output, and have such wildly different speeds of weight loss. As the poem that my dear grandmother loved (Desidirata) says: "Do not compare yourself to others, for there will always be greater or lesser people (weight loss), and you will become bitter or vain." This is easier said than done, but I work very hard to do it and count my blessings! I'm down more than 60 lbs (including pre-op) that I'm sure I wouldn't have been if it had not been for this journey.

Interesting blog. Half-fast is better than half-assed!

Daddysgirl10 reacted to Diane_65 in No loss in one week/Dumping Syndrome
Yogurt is deceiving sometimes... be careful with sugars and carbs in yogurts. I only eat Dannon light and Fit yogurts or Carb Masters from Kroger. I have never had the dumping syndrome and am almost 4 months out. I like the sugar free fudgecicles too but only eat 1 a day at most. Another thing... I don't weigh at home at all. I wait to see the numbers at my Dr. visits. I have read so many that were discouraged due to increases or stalls. I won't weigh again till August. If I go through a stall, I won't even know it! LOL .............. Hang in there... each day gets easier and the journey is amazing!

I was kinda down this morning but I know it is a process and once I get back into the gym it's going to start coming off fast. Don't be discouraged! 19 lbs is awesome!!
My first couple days of soft food I made tuna salad (tuna, eggs, a little light mayo, and a small piece of pickle) I blended in my ninja until it was about baby food consistency. I also eat Greek yogurt for breakfast. Today I ate an egg (well, most of it anyway) that was mushy/runny. Tonight I'll try to make chicken salad but I plan on leaving it just a little chunkier than my puréed tuna- just so I can slowly get used to a thicker consistency- baby steps.
I hope this helps you!

Daddysgirl10 got a reaction from judysbabies in Two weeks out and learning
Judy, I thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I was thinking that it was just me going the the food battle in my head. I found my self looking at the food channels something I have never done in my life. Now, I'm trying to watch it every chance I get.
I'm praying to have a better day, and to keep my mind focused on the prize I'm down 35lbs since my first doc visit on May 13. So I know I have to do better, but Lord knows it HARD AS ALL GET OUT!!!!

Oh dear Judy <<<HUGS>>> This was one of the most challenging times for me also fighting the battle with head hunger rearing its ugly HEAD! This WILL get better, but it WILL take time. Avoiding these triggers is a great option for now. :-) Today I had a conversation with my NUT and asked how long I would have to battle the 'head hunger' and/or food fight...and she said FOREVER, imagine my mouth drop...
I keep telling myself that they only did surgery on my STOMACH not my brain/thoughts....
Keep your chin up! Here on VST we are rooting for you!
Best of Luck!

Good luck! I had the sleeve on December 13th. It is the best thing I have ever done and would do it again. I will be honest I questioned myself the first two or three days after surgery - but by day 7, I haven't looked back. I have lost over 50% of what I need to. I lost 48 lbs and have 32 to go.
Let us know how you are doing and what you decide!
