Sprung a leak at 6 months out, no more sleeve or tummy

Well this will be my last VST entry. My sleeve blew out just below my esophagus, food was leaking into my body and caused a major abcess. Sooo, my entire stomach had to be removed, they did a bypass, so I'm back to square one. Unfortunately, I'm on a temporary feeding tube which is no fun. Also, I went through oxycodone withdrawal, if it weren't for my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ I would have lost it.

I guess I'm one of the one percent

Don't leak, I'm also one of the less than 1% that has/had a leak. I'm so so sorry you're going through this. I'm so afraid of the drug withdrawals...

So sorry to hear that.

My wife has the bypass and is doing very well. She has lost all of her excess weight and has the energy of a race horse.

I understand the sustaining power of faith in Jesus Christ in a crisis. He has brought me through many a storm. God bless you.

So sorry you are having to deal with this. Did your Dr. have any clue what might have caused the leak?

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your leak. My surgeon told me if i didn't get a leak within the first few weeks, I wouldn't get one. I'm going to let him know about your case so he doesn't tell patients that it won't happen several months out. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Because of previous surgeries I had a lot of scar tissue that prevented them from using the stapler at the top of my sleeve. They were concerned about that the whole time but it seemed to have held, unfortunately it didn't stay that way.
