  1. I would say that is a great accomplishment! 61 lbs is a great loss...everyone is different and will lose differently....but you wouldnt have lost that if you hadnt made the choice for surgery....CONGRATS
  2. I was gonna tell ya to go and get the stuff called "better than boullion"...I am clear liquids and it is wonderful...good luck tomorrow...mine is thursday
  3. Great job...you are definately a success story that many want to achieve...now saying that...remember my friends those that are still a size 24 like myself...we all want to be smaller and would have or still say if I could only fit a size 14...this would still be an accomplishment worth celebrating!
  4. a couple of people in our support group say they have to set alarms on their phone as a reminder...I get sleeved in 2 days so I will have to see if that is true for me as well...Good luck!
  5. You are looking great! I always like to read the successes that people are having...I am being sleeved in 2 days and very excited
  6. I think it all depends on your surgeon....My surgeon told a member of our support group that her stomach was the size of his thumb...holds approx 2 oz.
  7. Well...chickie...I didnt have a PCP, but I had Gynocologist that wrote my letter for me...you might want to go that direction.

  9. I agree laceeb....you should be seen if you are having those kinds of problems...I have friends that went back to work on day 2 and another a week later......we are told by our Dr. that you should be pretty much ok after 1 week.....but looking at what others say on here there are so many having drinking issues and protein issues
  10. I really like what Melody2 said...you have made a life changing decision and you know it will be better in the long run for your health....You are having food mourning and that is normal....or at least that is what I have been told in the support group that I attend...My surgery is a week away....thing of it is you cant change it now...all you can do is find something else but foot to occupy your mind, and realize there is life after wls....you will be fine once you get past this milestone.
  11. Well...chickie....we make decisions sometimes that we sometimes regret...but the one thing is you need to evaluate your life before you get the surgery and I am glad you do have time to figure things out. You do not want to do this when you are already struggling with life issues as it can make them seem even worse...GOOD LUCK!
  12. O my goodness....well...I bet you dont do that again....Had you not eaten in a while and let yourself or was it head hunger?
  13. I am sorry that you are going through this...I have not read any other posts with people having the situation that you are....Have you talked to a Gastro Dr....maybe there is something more going on.
  14. I agree....I am scheduled next week....we have a great support group here and I really enjoy this forum too...thanks
  15. Congrats.....you look amazing..and I am so glad that you shared! I have my last visit with my surgeon tomorrow...and my surgery is scheduled for next Thursday!
  16. Keep positive thoughts...sounds like the weight loss is on track, but painful...I wish a quick recovery for ya...and if they convert to a full bypass you already know what to expect....Keep you head up.
  17. As I am sure that you feel that the sleeve would be the best option for ya...you should really talk to a Dr. to evaluate your medical issues if you have any. My Dr. doesnt do a sleeve unless you have VERY low risks...if you have medical issues already he will NOT do a sleeve and only a RNY. Curious tho...why did you chose the band and now want to change? Are you not having any success with the band?
  18. Sounds to me like these Drs. can do everything you need to at a hotel setting rather than a hospital setting...sounds similar to what the "stars" do when they have surgery.....they stay in hotels rather than the hospital more discrete.
  19. Congrats....on the post op. I sure hope you begin to feel better real soon...I am looking forward to my surgery in just 20 days....I cant wait to be in your position...Good luck and I know the future will be extremely bright for you.
  20. Realizing that you cant consume much and you are in desperate need of protein....is the cost a good trade off?Plus you need to see how it tastes can and can you handle it it? So many things to consider.
  21. the trenches are gonna be deep but through it all we have a great forum to work with and everyone is either going through it or has so it a a great thing
  22. Check with your NUT but our pre-op diet you can have sherbert and I believe that will be a my saving grace for substance...it was actually on our list of things for clear liquid diet.
  23. Fingers crossed for ya...I can see why you would be worried...that is a scary thing to be told...
  24. Sounds like that would be a great idea if you live alone...donate the food to a food pantry...but that is not an option for me...I still have to cook for the other 4 people that live in my house...my ole man and the kids...."not fair"
