Grazing vs 3 meals + a snack per day
I do like Bufflehead said. 3 meals even if they are pretty small sometimes, no snacks no extra meals. If I need to I drink 2 protein shakes so I get at least 60 grams of protein but if I dont need to I drink one, I don't count my shake as a meal. I can't eat that much fish, forget about the other stuff. I might get close to 3 oz of fish and 2 or 3 bites of the Broccoli, that would be a big meal for me.

6 weeks/ 8 weeks lost 30 lbs
Well one more week and I lost 1.6 lbs this week. Somehow it isn't bugging me as bad as it was last week. I am resigned to my doom. I can't decide if I should be more relaxed about what I eat or be more strict. In my prior life I would do a cheat day every 2 weeks but it just doesn't seem worthwhile right now!

They want to eat WHAT?!
You had nothing to do with the planning or anything but you bought all the meat? Was it assigned to you? Did it maybe seem to them that they were planning something and you took it over? I personally would be thrilled if someone brought the meat and a cake , just wondering why they are being so weird. If they dont like you bringing your own food- too bad. You have to make sure you are taken care of. I hope you still have a nice get together.

is anyone not hungry after having gastric sleeve surgery
I have had maybe 3 times in 7 weeks post op that I thought I was hungry. Before surgery I usually had trouble telling if I was truley hungry or if it was a digestion issue. Just like pre op I usually feel weak and shakey rather than stomach hunger.

I need a hug
Sending hugs your way!! I don't lose anything for 4 days at a time and then lose less than a whole lb. It is very frustrating. I made a vertical list of all the days of the month so I could see patterns in how I was losing and that was it- 4 days of nothing a day or two of small loss, 4 days of nothing, on and on. Those 4 days feel like they are 2 weeks long. I was amazed the last 10 lbs only took a month, it felt like forever. This is hard and frustrating but when we look back in 6 months or a year I'm confident that we will have lost a decent amount of weight and the hard times will have been worth it!

Pain lot of
I wasn;t even allowed liquids until the afternoon 2 days after my surgery! At that time warm things did go down easier but nothing was easy for several days. Even now at 6 weeks post I can't drink plain water. I can take regular size sips now of tea, propel & G2 but a gulp hurts pretty bad.

Newbie must haves?
Yea I sure need to buy me some patience! Wonder if I can afford it? Good thing this surgery forces me to stay with this way of eating.

Searching for a good cook book
Did you try the library? I checked out 4 different cookbooks for after weight loss surgery. I need to someday get around to actually looking at them!

6 weeks/ 8 weeks lost 30 lbs
I tell you, if it weren't for the fact that I CAN"T eat much the impatience and aggravation from this would have made me binge big time. I know this is the right thing for me but if I were one of those lower BMI people who didn't have my 43 years of yo yo dieting behind them I would say don't do this. I would tell anyone with less than 100 lbs to lose not to do this. I would tell anyone who hasn't had years of weight problems not to do this. This is freakin' HARD.

What is a bougie
The actual bougie is a tube they put down your throat. When they do the staple line its a guide so they dont make your stomach too thin. Its holding that place in your stomach while they work. You can watch videos of the surgery on You tube- pretty cool.

6 weeks/ 8 weeks lost 30 lbs
Well today is 6 weeks after my surgery and 8 weeks after I started the liquid pre surgery diet and I have lost 30 lbs. Its going a little slow but its GOING. It took the last whole month to lost 10 lbs. I know 10 lbs a month is good- it just feels slow while its happening. I want other people with crappy slow metabolisms like mine to know they aren't alone.

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
Well today is 6 weeks post surgery and I am down 30 lbs. I dont mind being a slow loser if it just keeps going. I admit I do get frustrated because I was hoping to lose faster but I'm still happy.

when do I get some energy?
I'm 6 weeks out today and I too am waiting for some energy. I'm not tired all day every day like I was up till 2 weeks ago but I do feel like I tire out at the end of the day more than before surgery and I sure have not gained any get up and go, more like get up and do it coz you have to.

My First Entry 7/4/2013...Welcome to my blog
Congratulations! It seems the norm now to have to fight for everything with the insurance companys. Guess they figure if you really want it you will appeal. Hopefully you wont have to wait much longer.

There are no stupid questions...right?
I always wonder if those Drs that blow gas into the removed stomach do it to show the patient how stretchable the removed part was and how big you could have filled it with food- though I'm sure not as big as they blow it up. I wanted to see my removed stomach but he didn't show it to me. I was too out of it until the next day to ask again until it was too late.

4 days post op - feels like I will explode
Gas-x is simethicone, I wonder if maybe they have simethicone but in another brand name.

Costco brand calcium chews citrate or carbonate?
The funny thing is they say the reason Carbonate isnt absorbed as well is because it needs an acid environment. Seems to me we have too much acid in our smaller stomachs now but...... anyhow I take big honking chewable citrate "wafers" from Twin Labs I get at Vitamin Shoppe

This app bums me out!
I was 5 weeks yesterday. I lost 9 lbs pre surgery and 17.5 post. So you are losing better than me. It is very depressing because its going so slow. I see some people say they ramped up at 7 or 8 weeks- hopefully our time is coming!

Protein paranoid
43 lbs in 6 weeks? Wow. Yea, practically all I eat is Protein. I had two bites of green bean last week but otherwise its been meat, cheese, dairy and Beans plus 2 protein shakes a day. I worry about getting enough protein more than anything else because you need it to heal and to help guard against hair loss. Its also something I have never before done in my life- make sure I got enough protein. Also I was so tired I was hoping it would help that, but its getting better now.

Has anyone tried syntrax nectar fuzzy navel?
I hated it but everyone else seems to like it. I put it in 16 oz water (I think), whatever the higher recommndation was and I thought it had a bad aftertaste, the more I drank the worse it seemed. I tried one other fruity flavor and felt the same about it.

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
Today is my one month anniversary and I'm down 26 lbs which includes the pre surgery diet. Kind of disappointing and I'm hoping I will be like some others I have read and get to 6 or 7 weeks and I will finally start losing better. Still its 26 lbs in 6 weeks which is better than I ever did before. I looked back when I lost 60 lbs on low carb and I was losing 12lbs every 3 or 4 months! I lose one or two lbs now and then go 4 or 5 days of nothing, rinse and repeat over and over. My clothes are loser, I'll get there.

cashews vs almonds? ?
I'm afraid to eat any nuts for a long time because I cant control myself with them very well at all. Unless I take a little amount to work with me so there is no more, I cant stay out of them.
