I am a twenty-ten gal.... What did they do in 1910...I doubt they said 19 hundred and ten or one thousand nine hundred and ten.... to me, twenty-ten, sounds better

Well HELLO friends !!! We made it back from our trip yesterday evening and we have been unpacking and washing clothes and most of all relaxing since then. Until now that is...lol My neighbor brought her kids bright and early this morning. They are asleep right now, that explains this post :blushing: The 3 year old is not on a normal schedule but she gets to start one today. I am about to wake her little booty up. Sounds stupid huh?...to wake a 3 year old up! She really needs to learn to go to sleep and wake at a decent hour and I know that it will help her mom out tremendously if I would do that! I had a blast at my friends house. We had the bonfire (yes it rained some) and I took a pic of it and I can see my dads face in the fire. He passed away in 99. It comforted me to see him there with me. Tell me this pic isn't awesome!!!! Have a great day and I will check back in if I have a minute!

Good morning! Happy New Years Eve My plans: Bonfire, fireworks, laugh, eat, drink and be merry. Ring in the New Years with my 2nd family over in Louisiana. We only drink 2 or 3 times a year and today is one of those days. I have my diet 7 up and crown. We are leaving in a few hours. I have so much packing to do. I just saw the weather and we have a 40% chance of rain tonight here...I wonder what it is over there?! I really hope it doesn't rain on our parade. I hope whatever all of you do, that you have a fantastic time. Be careful, and stay warm. I am so excited to start a New Year with old friends and NEW ones. 2010 is going to be a great year....mark my words

Now I have read so many posts that I dont know what to say. ME, at a loss for words....imagine that! OH, the first thing that sticks out in my mind is OMG Cindy! 6 dozen cookies? Has anyone told you that the dough of cookies causes cancer? :wink5: (yes, I lie to myself regularly) Kat-Rick working 36 doesn't surprise me at all. Sad and very dangerous. I would sue too if something happened. I was in the oilfield 20 years. I have seen those guys work some long hard hours. The companies must think these guys are robots. Jenn-Don't go putting all our guys on pedastals. We have jackasses too. But they (for the mostpart) are genuine. AND I would love for you to live here Congrats on 180! That is awesome! Suzanne-what did you do with the ice cream??? Laura-I'll bet you are a busy lady getting everything ready for the big BASH for all your sons friends! Have fun! :tongue2: Check this out...last night Nanny woke up, recognized all the people in her room and starting chatting with them and asked for some soup because she is hungry. :w00t: Strikes me as odd that as soon as they take her off all the meds that she was on she wakes up and is coherent. I think the meds were knocking her for a loop! Have a great day everyone. I will check back in later.

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)
Hi everyone! I hate the feeling that I am going through. My (step)dads mom is 99 years old. We call her nanny and she is such a sweet woman. My mom has gotten really close to her over the past 10-15 years. She has been her friend and help her whenever she needed/wanted anything. Well, nanny is knocking on deaths door. She was in the hospital over the christmas holidays and now she is back in her 'retirement facility'. She is not eating anymore and she is asleep all the time. So now hospice is taking care of her and it is just time to sit back, keep her comfortable and wait. It is a hard thing to go through but how can anyone really be sad? She lived long enough to see her great great grandchildren. Not many people get to do that. But I still feel bad for my stepdad because it is never easy to lose a parent. Yesterday I spent the day getting the sweets out of the house. It was the WAY I was getting rid of it that kinda sucked. Oh well, it is gone now. Except for the chocolate chips and I will have to tell my dh to throw those out. lol I don't have the heart. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning ladies~ Suzanne-how sweet that your dh would bring you to & from work just so you can have a warm car. Sounds like something my dh would do too. I am way spoiled and I love it! So do you just cut up your steak and throw it in the crockpot? I need details...I love veggie soup. Kat-I love Wizard of Oz. That is one of the ones I can watch over and over. I want to bring Macy to see the new chipmunk movie too. Let me know if it worth it! On her 6th birthday she got an el-cheapo MP3 player and it works fantastic! I added some music to it the other day and she went outside, pulled her chair in the sun, put the ear buds in her ears and sat there for the longest just listening to music. Too cute! Jenn, Jenn, Jenn-I can not imagine how sad you must get at this time of year. There is one thing I do know for sure...the is a huge difference in being alone and being lonely. You said yourself many times that you need to focus on yourself. What better time than now? Every day when we wake up we choose how our day is going to turn out. You can choose to be sad or choose to say, today is going to be great. I know it doesn't seem to be true, but it is. Our mood for the day is what we wake up and decide it is going to be. I am going to be happy today. Would you like to join me? I am going to eat right today. I am going to smile a little more than I should today  and I may have to jump a plane and go to a friends house and kick her butt!...but I will smile while I am doing it! One day at a time applies to more people than AA and NA folks. Call me anytime! This morning I woke up and I realized something. I can not go one more day eating the way I have. The pain I used to have (when I was this size and larger) is starting again. My back pains and body aches just from moving around and doing daily activities is taking its toll. I can not wait until New Years. Lucky for me I have only gained 3 pounds over the holidays. I was so scared that I had gained more. All 3 pounds is from cookies, candy and Gooey butter pumpkin cake (thanks Kat, lol) Anyway...I have to start this TODAY. For me, there is no tomorrow. I woke up with the 'want to'. So, I am going to go with it. The ticker is updated and I will just do what I am supposed to do. I have cleaned out my closets and realized that I had thrown away all of my fat girl clothes, therefore I have no clothes. I will buy just a few to get me by until my thinner me clothes start fitting again. I said I wasn't gonna buy any bigger clothes but I can't jst run around nekkid either  Jolly, Michelle, Cindy, Irene, Shalee and all of our other friends...I hope you all had a great holiday. So, what is everyone planning for New Years Eve?

Good morning! Whew....what an eventful past week. I am so glad it is over but it sure was worth it. Now things get back to 'normal'. DH starts back on nights tonight, my dss is going home so it will just be me and the girls later. On New years eve dh and I are going to Louisiana to visit friends and ring in the new year. We are gonna make a bonfire  and eat, DRINK, and laugh. I can not wait! Good times! I haven't weighed. I probably wont until New Years when we get home. I really do not want to but I need to be accountable. Ugh. Hi Jenn-the New Year is just around the corner and I see great things in your future. Just do it! Hi Michelle Have a great Sunday everyone.

Suzanne-how pretty! Does it snow like that at Christmas for you every year or is it special when it happens? Hi Cindy Hope you all had a great Christmas. We already took the tree down. My Christmas dinner turned out very nice and I really impressed myself with the meal I made....my family was proud of me....that meant alot. My pecan pie was to die for and considering it was really only my 2nd one to make (the first one sucked) I was really happy! Have a great weekend ladies!

Jolly-way to go on the -10 That is awesome!! Kat-so much fudge!! I made one batch today and I can hear it in the kitchen screaming my name! lol Jenn-I am glad that your party went good. Wish I would have been there! I was there in spirit. Would you all believe that I started this post an hour and a half ago? I went to the kitchen to get a paper towel and ended up getting may and her friend settled in to paint pictures, then unloaded the dishwasher, washed some sheets and some dishes. Then when I sat down I realized I forgot to get the paper towel (the reason I got up to begin with). So .... see Kat, the memory thing...it is setting in early for me. lol My neighbor that wants me to keep her kids if she gets her job just came over to borrow my phone because the place called her to make her an offer. I hope I am not bitig off more than I can chew. I know I can hande the 2 month old, it is the girl that just turned 3 that scares me. She is VERY VERY ummm...uh, headstrong and smarty pants, and downright mean at times. When I am singing with macy, she says over and over, "hey, stop singing, hey, stop singing". Her standard answer for everything is NO...even though you know she means yes. We'll see how it goes. I will let you know if she gets the job. So...I saw a picture of myself yesterday and it made me sad. I won't say any more about that. I know what I need to do....it still hurts though. How long & how do I defrost a 23 pound turkey? I will touch base later....
