Before and after pictures please!
We were probably in stretchers right next to each other! Lol. That's amazing. And I see we have similar starting points & height. I actually see Dr. Borland tomorrow. Can't wait. And thank you!

Insecure about myself
This surgery doesn't make you any more secure. You won't love yourself more. You won't become a rich famous model. You may actually hate the way you look and your new lifestyle afterwards. The sleeve is a tool to use to become healthier. It's a tool to use to manage portions (of healthy choices) in hopes of losing weight. If you're asking if you're big enough? Probably so. If you're old enough? Probably so. If you should have the surgery? None of us can answer that for you.

what makes someone looks unhealthy after WLS?
I don't look unhealthy. I look f'n hot! LOL I think it has to do with balancing your diet, being active, and just generally taking care of your body & mind.

Restriction and eating
I never could stop at restriction. If so, I'd never eat more than 2 bites of anything (that's ok in the beginning, but at 7 months out , it's not). Not that I'd advise others to do this, but I pretty much "force feed" myself 2-3 oz. just to clarify, I'm never in pain, I just feel full after a bite or two.

Plastic surgery in Louisiana
As I'm getting closer to goal, I'm thinking more and more about plastic surgery. I'm looking forward to looking like a somewhat normal person (naked). Hehe. Since I found my VSG surgeon from y'all lovely people, I thought I'd ask about cosmetic surgeons as well... Has anyone had plastic surgery in Louisiana? Which Dr did you use? Who would you recommend or not recommend?? I realize there was once a forum for plastics, but I can't seem find it since the site changed. Thanks in advance!

Do you work for your weight loss or do the pounds just fall off?
I WORK for it!! Total change of lifestyle and I LOVE it!!! I weigh or measure all my food, I make good food choices, and I workout. I have a couple friends who had wls, and we were all at the same starting point. One exercises but eats as she did before but smaller portions. The other follows the plan as far as eating but hasn't exercised. They are both struggling around the 200lb wt mark while I now weigh 147. I'm not saying everyone would get those results, but it surely works for me.

Other peoples Comments
That's the comment that bothers me the least! I like that one. Haha

Boogie size
Mine used a 32. But I don't think that matters much. Following your doctors plan is what makes you successful.

Are you COLD?
Always freezing too. Lol

who is getting comments from friend/family your getting to skinny?
I get this and I giggle. But in my head I scream "SHUT THE F UP!" People tell me I'm skinny now, but truth is, I can stand to lose another 20-30 lbs to get to a "healthy" BMI. I don't let it change my goal. Me and Doc know what's best.

Sports bra suggestions
I'm not sure about bigger sizes (never had that issue) lol. But if anyone else is looking for sports bras, I really like Victorias Secret VSX and Nike makes a good one I slip over my bra. Sorry, this probably won't help you, but maybe someone else.

Social Events
I eat. No one has ever questioned me at a party or wedding (especially bc they give you ridiculously small plates if its buffet style )

Is Curves workout a good way to gain muscle?
I agree. I don't think Curves would be enough to gain muscle mass.

Discouraged. I hate insurance companies!
You might need a new team. I'm not familiar with this insurance process as I was a self pay. But I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Don't give up!

Need help..........What did you do with all of your clothes that are to big!
I gave mine away to people I knew would love them and enjoy them (I had very nice clothes too). People would say, "oh it must've been nice getting rid of all your clothes." Um, no. But I'm glad I gave them away to people who enjoy them.

Share a typical days menu, post-op
This is what I ate yesterday (I'm nearly 7 months out): Breakfast: Protein shake, 30g Lunch: egg w/ cheese and a laughing cow wedge mushed in, 12.5g Snack: nearly 1/2 an apple with Peanut Butter, 7g Dinner: chicken and Beans w/ sour cream, 27g Snack: Protein Bar with a 2nd workout, 21g * I try not to do 2 protein supplements in a day, but I've stepped up my workouts quite a bit because of the holidays. I didn't record Christmas Day, so here's the day before: diced peaches and a Babybel , 5g Steak and spinach, 21g Beef Jerky and cashews, 9.5g Tuna and green beans, 23g Quest bar, 21g

I have failed staying on every other diet. What makes this different?
YOU make it different. It's not a diet or a program.. It's a big lifestyle change. You have to make healthy decisions every day, and follow your doctors plan. When others say its a tool, that is so right! I think the mental preparation is key to this.
