  1. I guess I don't think of ham salad as soft unless you chop it up good in the food processor. Then I would think the pickles would be fine as long as you didn't add a lot of them.
  2. Where are you food wise? At 3 weeks I was still on liquids.
  3. Ok I think I finally found something that makes my sleeve grumpy. I took my vities with a blended Protein Drink. The first time I've felt like I'm going to lose my Cookies, or slime. Yuck! What makes your sleeve grumpy?
  4. That's still a bit of a hard one for me. I seem to feel overfull about 10-15 min after I finish. I probably need to cut back on my portions. That said, I'm sitting here eating my brunch. 1 egg blended with a little Water scrambled with some chopped onion, some chopped bacon and grated Swiss cheese. (Quiche scramble). I just got up and measured, it's a little less than 1/2 a cup. And I will feel stuffed in 20 mins. I think my main problem right now is eating by the clock instead of hunger... Or finishing what's on my plate because I can, not because I'm still hungry. With the band I would get the tight throat feeling and know I needed to quit. I think I need to retrain my brain.
  5. I was thinking this last night as I pulled off my slightly tight around the waist size 16 jeans. Three months ago (not that I could have worn them 3 months ago....) I would have been running around all day with my pants unzipped because they would have been pushing on my port, and that HURT!
  6. Im so sorry your having this stress, and I understand your frustration. I think (fingers crossed) I have just broken an eight week stall/plateau/gain. The most important thing really is fluids and Protein. We need to believe it will come off. It's important to believe. But when it dosent it's so tempting to just eat something. It is so scary worrying that this wont work! Is there somewhere you can go to just use their scale? My sis is a pcp and I know if you were one of her patients she would be overjoyed to let you pop in once a week just to weigh. So when is your next follow-up appt?
  7. Bay Bariatrics in coos bay Oregon has cash pay sleeve $12,000. He did my lap band. Nice guy.
  8. Shrimp salad and frozen shrimp. Rotisserie chicken, laughing cow cheese, fresh mozzarella cheese, cheese sticks, organic 1% milk, sliced deli meat.
  9. I've been eating Costco shrimp salad. 1/2 a cup is 70 cals 10.3 gm protein, 5.8 carb and 1.8 g fat. And YUMMMY!!!
  10. Cleared for everything as tolerated at 6 weeks (10weeks Monday). So far do good tolerating everything!! Just finished shrimp salad on a bed of romaine! Yummmm!!! I love my sleeve! (Used to have a lapband and salad/fresh veggies were hit or miss, and we won't mention the raw carrot episode of 2008!) By the way shrimp is a WONDERFUL way to get your Protein in. costco shrimp salad is 70 cal for 1/2 a cup, 5.8gm carbs, 1.8gm fat and 10.3gm protein!!! It's becoming my go to food, when I'm hungry, or need some extra protein. (And yummy too!)
  11. I'm one of those stall whiners almost 9 weeks out and have gone up and down so much in the last 7 weeks, it's been crazy!!! Saw my surgeon last week for my 2 month appt and according to her charts I had only lost 10 since my pre-op appt. she started talking about how we maybe should have done bypass. :-( I was pretty demoralized. BUT, what I have noticed is that every time I come here and vent those fears something happens and my weight starts to move again. I don't know if its the switch ups people suggest, the support I'm given, psychological or if I pay more attention to what I'm doing or what but something happens. I can officially say I'm back to my lowest weight post sleeve and I'm hopeful that the downward trajectory will continue!
  12. Or did she possibly mail it? My coordinator says they are starting to mail things since too many pieces were getting "lost" including my nut report 3 times. Just a thought.
  13. Khloe can you please add me to the Facebook page? Laurie Anne hunter is my Facebook name, I actually signed up with an old email years ago so it wouldn't work to give you that address. My surgery was apr 28, Thanks!
  14. Don't know if the others caught that you have a clutch. ( did I catch that?) I could drive at about a week out but took about 3 weeks before I could drive the truck. (5 sp w/ clutch). I would get in push in the clutch and then get out and go back in the house. I may have been able to do it in an emergency but knew it would not be safe if I had to react suddenly. Hubby took full advantage and took my car do I would stay home and recuperate.
  15. I had all my preop stuff, including hospital before I was approved. I think my approval came in 5 days before surgery. Dr said if approval didn't come I could cancel and preop is good for 30 days.
  16. No, but not sure if that is a hospital or insurakeep ence thing. The most I think they could charge at the time of admitting is the $150 copay charge
  17. Yes they are the same. Do you have complications with your band? I had to do 3 mos diet w/surgeon 3 nut visits EGD PCP letter Psy visit Removal approved, but revision denied but overturned on peer to peer appeal. They wanted additional documentation. Good luck
  18. I have basic fep. Had my band to sleeve revision 9 1/2 weeks ago. My band had slipped. Had to jump all the preop hoops, denied first time, did what they asked for and was approved. Surgery 1week later. My out of pocket for everything was under a thousand. (3 days/nights in hospital).
  19. Friday will be 10 weeks since start of my 3 day pre-op. As of today I'm down 20.4 lbs..... Some of us are just slow! And remember We could be up, it's all in perspective. I have lost 20% of my excess weight in almost 10 weeks
  20. Also did you have a hiatal hernia repair?
  21. If your told letter has been mailed you can ask to have a copy faxed to the dr also. Just have the fax # ready.
  22. My grandma (98 lbs soaking wet) taught me the starving kids in China thing. I still remember not wanting to finish dinner one night and told her to send it to those kids because I didn't want it. Lol Years later when we decided to adopt people asked why China? I said I was going to go get one of those starving kids over there my grandma told me about! And she was starving, 11 lbs at 13 months!!! The really sad thing is the Chinese people who came up and felt my fat arms!
  23. 6 1/2 weeks for me no problems... Yummm
  24. I used a whole egg, Salt pepper cheese I even thru in 1/2 a tsp of butter for flavor. I even diced a slice of bacon real small and put that in. (It was about 4 weeks when I could eat soft foods)
