Protein~what am i doing wrong
Isn't it funny when we start talkking about things like this how it gets into our thought processes.... Should have waited an hour Laura- Ven and then it could have been in your Friday numbers. I'll have to hit Freddie's tomorrow.

Protein~what am i doing wrong
Funny!!! The crazy thing about the Peanut Butter craving, is it is not a usual food for me. Once a while on an apple, or of course Umpqua choc peanut butter ice cream, but the last couple of weeks it's all I can do to not just sit down with the whole jar and start spooning it in. Trying to figure out if any lacking nutrients will cause you to crave peanut butter.

Heck I don't need anything but a spoon for my Peanut Butter. If you google PB-2 what will pop up is the orig brand by i think plantation. I have heard you can order peanut flour which is similar. I was thinking about trying it, but if I remember correctly the price was similar. ( though the Problem may have been the quantity I needed to buy of the peanut flour).

I'll have to go by some pb-2. I have some in the cupboard but its 5 years old. I think I just need to throw it away. But I am craving peanut butter big time. Grabbed one of the peanut butter to goes the other day, ate it and the discovered it had 240 cals. Oh we'll that's what I get for not logging my calories first.

Thanks Laura, I just went down and mixed one with ice, vanilla and almond flavorings. I can choke it down. And actually if I just keep drinking them my palate will eventually adjust. I'll have to retry the Fage also, I'm not a yogurt fan but like the yoplait 100 cal Greek, it has 10 grams. Tomorrow I'll do the cheese and sliced turkey for lunch. Thanks girls. I'll get this figured out yet. Trying to be at 206 by the 19th. I have long promised myself a day of pampering in seattle when I hit 100lbs down from my heaviest, I'm Headed to my sisters outside of Bellingham and I want be able to Celebrate.

Too big!
How about the scrubs at Walmart? Personally from a psychological stand point you need to by a few clothes as your weight goes down. It's part of retraining your brain to recognize your shrinking body.

Protein~what am i doing wrong
How are many of you doing 80+ grams of protein and keeping it 500-800 calories!?!? I can't get the math to make sense. Today I had 1 1/2 pc of fish with about a tablespoon of tartar sauce, a protein shake, 4 oz of chicken, 2 bites of watermelon and a low cal fudgecicle, I'm OVER 800 calories and I only have 57 gm of protein. What the heck....

Tips for breaking my 3,4,5 week curse (i mean stall)
Sooo any tips for breaking the infamous 3 week stall?i have researched but still don't know what to do I've tried upping my cals.. Gained. Lowering, my cals nothing!! Licked my hubby's breadstick last night- and I'm up two pounds today!!! Ahhhh. Logically I know it's Water (ring was loose now it's tight). Day of surgery I was 229 got down to 213, today was 217! I'm still on soft foods, 5 1/2 weeks out eating 800-1100 cals about 80 oz Fluid. 60-80gm Protein. Just got released for some exercise. Lap band revision, so I get the stair steps but I'm starting to worry I'm going to fail. Help!!!

Life after the sleve....
I keep reading these posts about people have trouble eating more than a couple of teaspoons of food and barely being able to drink, I unfortunately do NOT have that problem. I can drink anything with fairly large drinks. Food, no problem! What about the rest of you that have been revised? Are we just used to dealing with this stuff from having the band or am I a freak of nature!?!?

Buyer's remorse? 6 days post op
I second the Protein bullet and add it to a bottle of Gatorade. Sip sip! (Many will tell you it's not the best protein, but it's better than none!) you can add some crystal light if the taste us still off for you. Good luck it will get better.

When can we drink soda
Actually I had my surgery here in the US and was told I could have sodas and use straws, not now but later. We had this discussion since I wanted a soda when my fluid was taken out of my band, it had been 5 years!! Just remember everything in moderation....

Recovery time?
I pretty much blocked off a month, was back on a limited basis after 2 weeks. But needed to go home and take a nap/rest at lunch for the next two weeks. I'm glad I blocked it off since I had removal complications

Scared
Actually I think I had more pain after my band surgery them my sleeve ( my husband agrees). I was weaker longer, with this surgery but that had to do with band complications, not sleeve complications. ( My stomach had prolapsed and was adhered to my liver). 5 weeks out I am feeling good, just having problems with the dreaded 3 week stall!!!!! Good luck with your decision.

Band to VSG Revision 5/28/13
Some of us just have more pain than others. I was one. Do you have a drain? Only used my pills for a day or two after the drain came out, but it took about 4 weeks to have me feeling back to normal, and I must admit to being tired and a little depressed today.... Yesterday was 5 weeks!

Anyone have kidney stones from surgery?
Dehydration can cause kidney stones... SO DRINK your WATER!!!

Protein
I've used the new whey for years. Many times putting them in my water bottle and sipping all day. Used them while losing 90 lbs with my lapband and no worse for wear.

WLS on 10/15 and i still get so full after just a few bites
So can you drink Water? Or does it take an hour to drink 3 oz of something besides Protein drink? What happens if you drink or eat faster?

Best low fat yogurt for 2nd week post op?
Yoplait Greek 100 calorie. I get the vanilla and add some sugar free flavoring, the kind like you get for coffee or Italian soda. ( my dr said no chunks until 6 weeks).

I feel like im eatting toooo much
I get one of those stops, a runny nose or kind of a hiccup burp.... Unfortunately, it's about 20 minutes AFTER I'm finished eating. Not sure if I'm eating to fast or what. This is real different then eating with the band.

Ok I went and looked (gee I'm a geek). What I read is that you have to be over 50 bmi to have a duodenal switch (DS). The sleeve was formulated as the first step to that surgery, for those that were extremely obese it was often not safe enough to do the entire procedure at one time. They also found that many did not need the second step they lost all they needed with just the sleeve. The second half of the surgery is a malabsorbsion component. Some people get pre approved for the DS, and in that way circumvent the one WLS per lifetime rule. They have the sleeve and then decide later if they need the second step or not.
