  1. Yes, I like the whey protein tubes! I dilute them in water with a few ounces of the tube.
  2. That's crazy about the hernia, but thankfully it's repaired! You are doing awesome, feels good right? Have you gone to any of the support group meetings?
  3. YES! I don't feel hunger, but when I take that first bite it tastes so good! Unfortunately, I suddenly feel too full and once made myself sick eating too fast. It helps when I eat on a semi regular schedule.
  4. I had Dr. Lahmann on April 29, 2013. Combined with my pre op diet, I am at 59.5lbs down! Follow whatever they say and you will do great, love the staff at BMI and silver cross!

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

Khloe, can I be added too, vokat@sbcglobal.net, Kathy Valiska
  6. Amandalynn, I stayed on the pain meds until last Saturday. I had to figure out my pain from uncomfort. I'm not necessarily in pain, but it's just uncomfortable sometimes. I followed everything they said though, got up and sat on the chair the first day, and then walked around a lot the next day. Getting up and moving really helped with gas too. I go for my follow up on Friday, so I will see how much I lost, feels like a lot!
  7. I was sleeved by dr Lahmann on Monday, and it couldn't have gone better, do everything they say, they know what they are talking about. Silver cross is amazing as well, all the staff were so polite and supportive. Good luck!

    the final countdown...

I was driving this morning, and my brain was working overtime, worrying about the surgery tomorrow, pain, and all my random thoughts,etc..then I turn on my radio and I heard the Swedish House Mafia song saying "Don't you worry, don't you worry child, heaven's got a plan for you." I thought, I am all good, and ready to do this, and the big guy upstairs has my back too!lol I had to share it with everyone!

    the final countdown...

I go on Monday morning, good luck to both of you! I am getting nervous for ht pain, but keeping positive. I will be on puréed protein starting on day 2 for 4 weeks... I am not sure how that is going to go...
  10. Thanks, it feels better to know its kinda normal. Surgery is Monday morning!,
  11. I am day 7 for my 2 weeks pre-op diet. I am on 2 protein shakes a day, and one meal of 4 ounces of meat/eggs/cheese/fish with 1/2 cup non starchy veggies. I can have sugar free jello and Popsicles or 2 broth servings a day too. I am doing okay, but am having some diarrhea like symptoms. It may be from the chewable vitamins or maybe it was the egg, spinach, ham and Swiss omelette, but I was running to the bathroom all day. I looked online and some something about starving/liquid diet stool. Anyone familiar with this? Or is this just part of the process?

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

I started my pre-op diet today, and so far so good. I was nervous before, and I have decided to just do everything as directed. Once I got a new perspective, I am felling pretty optimistic about the pre-op diet, especially because this means I am that much closer to my surgery!

    bcbs il process?

I am cin Peotone, and am going to Silver cross in New Lenox. Insurance approval was easier than pulmonary approval. I had to use a cpap machine for a month, without Much explanation f why I needed it, but it was all worth it! Best of luck!
  14. I am scheduled for surgery on April 29, 2013 with Dr. Lahmann at Silver Cross in New Lenox. I live in far south suburbs, near Monee. I am really starting to get excited and nervous all at the same time!

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

I still didnt get the invite either. I am getting ready for my pre-op diet starting on April 16th. I stopped drinking any caffeine, and pop. Any other suggestions for the pre-op? for some reason I am afraid the pre-op will be quite the challenge.
