sknyinside got a reaction from Chachi50 in Incision Pain
USUALLY - not always, burning pain is nerve pain. May be from the incision and manipulation of the surrounding tissue due to removal of the stomach through that area if that is in fact the one that was used. If the area is red, hot or warm to the touch, has purulent (green, yellow) drainage or if you are running fever, I would definitely not wait until Thursday. I've heard others on here state that the one incision does hurt more and have heard it described as a burning pain.

sknyinside reacted to endless80 in How bad is the nausea?
The only time I had any nausea was when I first came out of surgery, still groggy and oblivious to my surroundings but I somehow knew there was a nurse there and in my confusion said "nauseous, please fix it" and she (or he, I don't remember) shot me up with something and it never happened again.

sknyinside reacted to donaboss in I made one week and i really think i did not get sleeved haha
I went back to work today since I work in a office. I forgot how much emails I print daily and I have to get up and walk few feet to the printer. Not that it was such a big deal but getting up every few minutes, made me tired. My boss was so nice and didn't pressure me so I pretty much took my time.
Today was a miracle for me. I was able to drink plain Water all afternoon. And not just sips but actually tasted it lol. This is my first time in a week. I think it has to do with my chewing sugar free gum. The nutritionist told me I can as long as I don't swallow the gum. I guess that's the secret to drinking plain Water.< /p>
As soon as I got home I had to use the bathroom (#2 sorry). It's been a week and I was worried. I wonder if it has to do with the water lol. Not complaining.
After an 8 hour shift I still managed to go the mall to return something and went to 2 different stores. Am I tired? Yes my legs are numb lol.
I thank god for giving me such an amazing journey with no problems thus far.
6 more days until I can have some mashed potatoes that I've been craving... Ohh and the yogurt too. ok yes I know I have to watch what I eat but I have to get a bite..
Now I'm enjoying my Soup broth and maybe watch some Netflix.

It comforted me to see videos of the operation on youtube before the operation.
It was shocking and made me queasy but I was convinced that after something like that it was quite impossible not to lose the fat.
I kept picturing that little banana stomach which reduced the scale's rantings to a soft and easily dismissed whimper.
Time is on your side now. You've laid siege to the fat stronghold...victory is yours!

Not sure about that - has alcohol in it? Try melatonin a couple of milligrams. It's better for you - a natural hormone.

Follow your surgical team's plan. Do a search in these forums for "three week stall" and realize that the first month is not about weight loss but about your body healing. If you look at two months out nobody is still stalled and everyone loses significant weight. This is not the time to start changing your diet. This is time to follow the instructions and stop weighing yourself more than once a week.

I was going to call next day but have been much improved! I sometimes have nausea issues after anesthesia and so wondering if it was all. I've been getting most of my liquids in, walking, and even got out of the hours yesterday! Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated

I am ~5 months out. I have lost enough weight that I feel like a new person. I still have lots of weight to lose but the joint pain that kept me a couch potato has left. The fat around my middle that mad it hard to tie my shoes is nearly gone. The cheekbones that were hiding beneath my chunky face are reappearing. I love my sleeve. I only wish I had done this years ago. I have no regrets except that I have not always made the best of everyday since surgery. Take the gift of your tiny tummy very seriously. Don't squander the magnificent early months post-surgery where hunger is nearly non-existent and exercise plus reduced caloric intake can produce amazing weight loss. This rapid weight loss window is not infinite but it is magical. Enjoy it and use it wisely. You will be delighted by your progress and changes. Good luck.

Yes and no. Sometimes a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I've participated in the open version of this surgery as a first assist and know it isn't the simple procedure they make it out to be. Lots of vasculature and major organs to deal with. I'd be lying if I said it doesn't scare the crap out of me. I know the complications, although rare, are very real and can be horrible. So maybe the knowledge is scary but it's also an opportunity to stack the deck in our favor, chose a skilled surgeon, and comply with all the pre and post op instruction to reduce the risks of complications. This surgery is a calculated risk to avoid a lifetime of complications from obesity.

Let us know when you are "out of the woods" as I am positive that will be the case. They will fix this and you will have an uneventful recovery afterwards.

i have been n acute care nurse (blood guts and puke nurse) for 30 years, there is something very wrong about this. did you have a Ct-scan or an MRI?. you absolutely need to know if you had an infarct for your own safety. you might consider signing a release and getting all you records and test results, "just in case" it might also be helpful to find out if they cultured to "pus" and what it was. good luck, any changes seek medical care asap, please
