I was 243 when I started and was about to bust out of my size 20 jeans and im 172 and wear like a 11/12 or 13!!! yee haw. =) I just hope and pray that God will continue to bless me down this road as he has. =) I will go on Nov. 19th for my "6mth" ck up. a little scared, only bc I have been a bad girl and haven't taken my Vitamins as im suppose to. it was very hard in the beginning, but ive started back. I also need to have more Protein in my diet, sadly enough my hair is falling out, somewhat by the handfuls and I had thick curly hair... =( I want my hair back, its shorter b thinner. =( so sweet ladies, please make sure that you get enough protein! you all take care. =)

Post op life NOW is great. liquids sucked, but was manageable. After getting to soft foods this week, I've been happy, haha. Don't hope you can do something, make up your mind and leave no room for doubt. WIth pre op diets, and then the surgery, and the hard work you're going to put in to your new lifestyle, you'll drop those 100 pounds and reshape your body completely.

I was curious what kind of enlargements men on here have seen with weight loss. I am not asking anyone here to reveal penis sizes... I'm just curious as to what kind of gains people have seen with 50lb, 100lb, etc weight loss in terms of inches? Or inch? Is there anything else that someone's encountered that may be fun to look forward to or to look for? I'm 10 days post op and looking for various subtleties to look forward to....

You can expect to see about 1" more penis per 35lbs of weight loss. Of course this is limited to the the amount of fat surrounding yours.
I have lost just shy of 100lbs & can say it is verry noticeable. And with less fat around it, holding it up, it does hang lower (appear even larger) flacid.

hgk2002 reacted to mistysj in Did your feet get softer?
I have had hard calloused feet as long as I can remember. I have tried so many different moisturizers. . If I use pumice or a file, it gets smoothe but comes back within a few days. Also if I get rid of the callouses, my feet get more sore from walking. So I am thinking the callouses are actually a defense against the weight. Have your feet gotten softer as you have dropped weight?
I also get blisters from almost any dressy shoes, on the sides of my heels because my ankles are so fat.

I had some anxiety over the surgery i had booked for May 9 - tomorrow, but what tipped the scale is my support person going "off the rails". His brother is near death and the whole thing was just too much stress. Lets be honest, i had big time anxiety and realized that it wasn't actually entirely about the surgery, but my anxiety triggered some past traumas to rear its ugly head.
I decided to postpone by about 6 months and spend the summer enjoying life! And I am going to do EMDR treatment again to deal with those old traumas a bit more.
I hit goal back in February and so have been toying with the idea of trying to lose another 5-10# over the next 4-5 months since my plastics are delayed. Sounds easy, right? sheesh. I don't track food but just have been cutting back a tiny bit and man am I hungry! LOL apparently a small change makes a big difference.
I also started crossfit and that seemed to have triggered appetite.
I had been at a good equilbrium and maintaining so that is my top priority. Dropping a few more is a "nice to have" and more important for me to keep a good stable maintenance. I wish my good nutritionalist was still around - she moved away - as I would like to have a sanity check with someone I trust. When I saw her replacement (once) nice lady ended the meeting by saying "I have learned so much about sleeve patients from you!". I was thinking... i should be the one learning here.... so didn't go back.
I don't really need to lose more weight, I just sorta hoped that the problem areas (inner thighs, belly) would improve in spite of surgeons telling me I just need plastics...sigh

Hi ladies!!! What you are going through is perfectly normal....I was sleeved exactly a year ago and the first 4-5 months the weight came off at a steady rate...I was INVINCIBLE!!! Then just when I thought I had a good system down of eating more or less the right things (I've never been really good at getting my Protein or Water in and I have a cookie every day, cream in my coffee and a glass of wine a few times a week), but I was consistently exercising and then it all stopped. I think I lost 2-4 lbs in 2 months....but I was so happy to have lost 50+ lbs I was in a good space, didn't indulge any more than the stuff above, kept exercising and enjoying it more, and then I started losing again. I reached my goal weight a couple of weeks ago and am now 139 lbs, 2 lbs below goal weight. So don't freak out, enjoy the ride and remember how far you have come. If you start to gain a lb or 2, you need to really think about how to counter act that one; do the usual things, up the Protein, cut the carbs and exercise more...time goes by so fast and if you just hang in there, before you know it you will be the weight you were meant to be!
BTW, just in THIS THREAD ALONE, between the 6 of us WE HAVE LOST OVER 400 LBS!!!!!!!!

Hi,we were sleeved 3 days apart.
2 months ago my weight loss stopped.I was eating good and exercising. But the weight wasnt coming off.I sulked and complained about it for a good 7 weeks weeks.
When my rebellion about this surgery that wasnt working (lol) subsided I gave myself a good talking to and realized
1.I wasnt really tracking carefully.(the little bits and bops that went with the food,or the quick bite before dinner,or the extra milk in my tea, they all added a good few calories every day that I wasnt counting)
2.I had to drop my carbs and up my Protein.
3.i had to eat different foods. Was repeating the same foods all the time.
4.The choice was to do these things and work hard or stay at that weight, but I had a choice.
5.That I really was the only one to help me and being so mad about it want going to change it.I had to take responsibility.
Since then I have lost about 15 pounds fast.It may be my plan,I want to believe or It might have been a mighty stall, which would mean your weight loss will start up again.
In the mean time, maybe you should just work out your own plan.It does make us feel much better to be proactive about things. That way the weight will start coming off sooner rather than later again.
Good luck and if sulky me can do this,so can you.You are getting closer and closer to that elusive onederland and it does feel great.Hope you join us there soon!

    Seems like that's your answer. :} I'm still pre-op myself' date=' but I anticipate having those moments once I get below my lowest adult-weight (236), as I'm sure I'll try to get too comfortable. Sometimes it just helps to get back to square one & start again as if it was a new program all over. You got this! :}
