mytime2shine reacted to Mommagiraffe in I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
The last time I had family pictures, my son (who will be NINE this year) had just turned one...and my daughter hadn't even been conceived. I have very few pictures with my kids or husband. I can't wait to not be terrified to be photographed.

Drop the "only" from that statement, Ramirelek! You've lost 12.4 lbs in 3 weeks, so that's 4 lbs PER week! Think about that...if you kept up that rate of loss, you'd lose 200 lbs in a year. You're doing great!

I can't wait to be comfortable in my own skin again. To not constantly worry about my health. I can't wait to stop avoiding parties, weddings and social gatherings because I'm so self conscience. To not have to wear Spanx constantly, even to the beach. I can't wait to be a better mom and have energy to play with my 2 year old son. I can't wait to be the person I was when I met my husband. I can't wait to be intimate with him again and I can't wait for him to WANT to be intimate with me again.
My son and my husband deserve the best mom and wife that I can be... And I sure as hell want to be that for them more than anything.

To all the May sleevers:
CONGRATS!! Congrats!! CONGRATS!! You are all doing great and are such an inspiration!!! As I read each of your posts, I envision where I'll be in a couple of weeks (surgery date: June 6)
I know I will be impatient & wanting the weight just to fly away but have to remember that I didn't gain all this weight in a few weeks!!!!!
Best of luck for your continued success!!!
~~~ See you on the loser's bench soon!!!!!~~~
mytime2shine reacted to Tif 2.0 in Who Are You?
As strange as this sounds, I don't know who I am. I know the version of me that everyone sees, but I feel like there is another me inside that yearns to get out.
I'm 37 and have been with my husband for 16 years, the last 10 of them married. We have 1 son that took us 11 years to conceive, not that we were trying early in our relationship, but we didn't do anything to prevent either. I have PCOS and was first diagnosed at age 15 before anyone really knew ANYTHING about it. I have been overweight my entire life. The last time I wore a bikini I was 10 and I probably shouldn't have been wearing it then. LOL!
I feel like I'm becoming self aware for the first time in a really long time. I have focused on everyone else's needs and put my to the side. And when I say everyone, I mean flippin everyone. It is not an exaggeration to say when anyone in my family needs something I have dropped what I was doing to help out in whatever capacity I can. During family tragedies, everyone figures that I'll take care of whatever needs to be done. In alot of ways, my mom and I have reversed roles, I am the mom and she is the daughter. She had me very young and she has a case of arrested development.
My son started kindergarten this past September and as he has become more autonomous, I feel like I've been gaining some of myself back with every milestone he has passed. He is a bigger cheerleader than anyone. He tells me that he can give me bigger hugs and I haven't even had surgery yet, but I have lost almost 30 lbs.
So, I'm on my journey to Tif 2.0, with my Ipod (with the kindle app lol), backpack and my son and I'm REALLY happy to be on my way.
I say no. 10 days is enough torture! It is going to suck either way. You will be on liquids for a while. Just my opinion.
mytime2shine reacted to Lissa in Anyone Have A Relatively Easy Recovery Story?
I went into surgery expecting to die, and accepting the gamble because of all my health complications. I woke up and went "What?" because I truly didn't expect to wake up. When they wheeled me into my room, I got up off the recovery bed, walked around the hospital bed, and sat in the chair. I never did get in that hospital bed. My only pain was in my thighs from trying to use my leg muscled instead of my tummy muscles, but that went away quickly. I took pain meds three times after surgery, then refused any more pain meds.
I drove myself home the day after surgery, about a 40 minute drive. I started walking up and down my hallway the next day and I've been high energy ever since. In 10 months I've lost 110 pounds, plus I feel amazing!!!
This is the third best gamble I've ever taken (having my boys were #1 and #2).
