  1. No pre-op diet. Just clear liquids only for 24 hrs before surgery.
  2. . Doc Pop was my surgeon. Awesome work!!!
  3. Everyone's experience is different. I have seen some need a full six weeks off of work. I have a desk job and took one week. That was perfect for me! I was shopping on day four (though hubby pushed the cart) and back to walking when I returned to work on day seven. I have a three year old and go to school full time as well. Long recovery - ain't got no time for that! Lol! I'm nine mos post op now. 110, about 40 to go.
  4. Before and last weekend. Almost 9 mos out, down 110. Feeling great!
  5. . I was sleeved by Doc Pop in April. He does amazing work. No gas, no complications. :-)
  6. His bedside manner can be quick and curt, but his work is amazing. Not one complication...no gas bubbles, small incisions. He is truly a gifted surgeon IMO. Good luck!!
  7. i was wondering the same thing. I'm in Canton. :-)
  8. 5S'd your house? Oh my husband would probably commit me at that point! Lol! But something tells me your household runs pretty efficiently!
  9. Sleeved April 8. Had a 24 hr liquid pre-op diet.
  10. . Completely unrelated, but LOVE LOVE LOVE your name!!!
  11. Way to go, wcn! I used Forest Medical as well. Almost 6 mos out, down 85, 75 to go. Woot woot!
  12. Haha...I DO know how hard it is to find 42B bras! Just ordered one on eBay. Hopefully by next year I'll be able to go with 36B...much easier to find!! I can't go up to 42C. Have a hard enough time with B cups being too big. Do they make 42A?? Lol!
  13. Squizzo - I'm right there with you! Definitely never had the boobs to go with the big body, but a lot of clothes take it for granted we all do.
  14. It all depends on your job type and your body. I have a desk job and was off one week, then back to work 45 hrs/week. I was ready, but if I had a physically demanding job I would've needed more time. I could have done three days if it were plus the weekend.
  15. Stronger by Kelly Clarkson
  16. Keep in mind that we all recover differently. I was grocery shopping (with help) on day 4 and back to work (desk job) on day 7. My worst days were the day of surgery and post op days 1 and 2. I felt "normal" about two weeks post op. I'm almost five mos post op and loving my sleeve!!
  17. I completely understand and am often repulsed by my HUSBAND'S eating. I used to be right there, gorging with him. I don't judge him out loud. We're each on our own journey and hopefully one day he'll also put his health first.
  18. Amen, Char! I did lose myself over the past few years and with the help of this tool I am getting ME back. I did have shame, but it's long gone now. Loving life again!!
  19. I kept it pretty quiet at first - family and close friends. I had to work through my own shame. I'm almost 5 mos post op. I don't proclaim my story to the world, but will now share it with anyone who asks. My shame has turned to pride in taking steps to put my health first.
  20. My surgeon's insurance coordinator had a form letter for my PCP to use as a template. I have Cigna as well.
  21. I'm 41, married for 6 years and mom to a wonderfully feisty 3 yr old girl. I work for Con-way Freight and am finally finishing my degree. I'll have my BSB with a concentration in Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Mgmt next September. I have two younger sisters who are my best friends and love the closeness of our family. Family is everything. My husband and I spend our free time watching the world through the eyes of a preschooler, but cherish our monthly date nights. This summer's date nights have been filled with baseball games...go Tigers! I'm an 80's geek and could name any tune in an embarrassingly short amount of time. That's pretty much me in a nutshell. Great thread!
  22. I'm in the transportation industry. Live in Canton, MI, and work in Ann Arbor. Good to see some local sleevers on here!
  23. I had my consultation in October and was sleeved April 8.
  24. You're right next door, daniels7818. I'm in Canton.
