  1. Just saying, the mountain of paperwork at pre op check in is UNREAL!
  2. Thank you all for the replies. Glad to know I wont have to give them up!
  3. Ah, guess I should hav read the whole thread first. LOL! CONGRATS!!!! Glad to hear it all went well.
  4. i said the same thing to a coworker, "I miss chewing!" and her responce was "Chew gum." :/ Not helpful. I like Jello, so I made some sugar-free jigglers. My son and I had fun with those. broth helps to get a savory flavor instead of always having a sweet shake. I dont seem to be having much of a hunger problem, but I am not feeling all that well either. And I am not getting in all that I should be. Hang in there!
  5. I ended up with the same kind of thing. I had been planning to do the "put on workout clothes and stand in front of a white wall" pics....but I just cant bring myself to do it. My bf took some pics of me and my son in Austin this weekend, and I think some will work for a before. None of the big ol' bum, thank the Lord! lol.
  6. Sooo...as my screen name implies, I work in the museum business. I often do period interpretation in the fall/winter. I am wondering if having a sleeve will prohibit me wearing a corset under my dresses. I dont know any sleeved history interpreters to ask. Do any of you have trouble wearing corsets? I wear mine ad tight as what I can stand for the evening so that the clothing falls properly. Anyone?
  7. The clear liquids is because red ones can appear to be blood. SO best not to have them in the system! I do pre-op on Monday (June 3), endoscopy on Tuesday, sleeve on Wednesday. WHEW!!
  8. Yeah. I was discussing that with my boyfriend last night. My doc has his patients on a 1 week liquid diet. I can have 4-5 shakes a day, SF-jello, broth, skim milk, and 64oz of Water. The shakes have to have over 20mg of Protien, and less than 10mg of Carbs. (I hope I wrote that correctly, Im typing from memory.) Then the day before surgery, its all Clear liquids only: water, broth, non-red sport drinks. That's the day I dread! How about you?
  9. Hmm.....I've never heard about this. Definitely going to have a chat with the doc about it since pills are messing me up big time. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Yeppers. Ive been running to the ladies room about every hour. lol. I usually dont drink this much liquid, so my body is in a state of shock, I think. lol.
  11. Hey, June 2013 sleevers! I know some of us have started the pre-op diet, I was just wondering if anyone has taken their before pics yet. Or are you waiting for the day of surgery? I think I will take mine tonight. (whimper) Thoughts?
  12. well, donated the wedding dress.....but I have my prom dress from 1996 as well! I know I can get into it! um, one day. lol Gotta get sleeved first.
  13. If this is still open, I would love to be a tester. I have a Galaxy s3.
  14. Babybearsmum - i think its anxiety. Im kind of nervous about, "What if my liver doesn't shrink?!?!" lol 1stBabeBorn5th - a soooooo totally agree with those additions to the beef broth. lol! I cannot have any food either. other than Jello. meh. not the same. I didn't do so well on the first week (self-imposed) diet. So today is my official start day, and I am doing pretty well. Found a good shake and sticking to it. Just a week away!!!!
  15. Im June 5th, and I am starting to find myself having little panic attacks. I've had surgery before, but not this much. Just trying to stay focused.
  16. Congratulations! Take a deep breath and celebrate!
  17. I statt on the 29th as well. Already working on the water intake. I just dont like to drink at all.
  18. Thanks for the heads up! Out of curiousity, may I ask as to when we can expect the launch of the new membership? Sounds like you all are making it worth the little extra. (although hard to tell until we know the cost.) Thanks for the excellent work you all do!
  19. Michelle, did you ever get your Vitamins? How long did you have to wait?
  20. Im up in Waco! Getting sleeved on June 5! PS. Austin is the best.
  21. Yep! And having a hiatal hernia fixed. Fun fun. My galbladdet keps me in pain so I am trilled to have it come out. Plus, since I am self pay, insurance will cover a portion of my costs because of these two things.
