- I need an "angel"
Joiin the June Sleevers group. That is what we are here for.- Theme songs for your sleeve journey?
hmmm....well, for me, on June 4 it will be "One Day More" from Les Miserables. lol. when I was working out, I was really pumped by "Cherry Lips (Go Baby GO) by Garbage...even though its about a boy that dresses like a girl. It was more about the fun music, and the thought that no matter who you are you can be ROCKIN! lol. So I may pick that one again.- free GNC membership today!
Thank you! i am dreading the pre-diet more than I am the surgery. lol- Has anyone had their gall bladder removed at the same time as the sleeve?
I will be...on June 5. My gallbladder IS acting up and has been for some time. Not stones, just over production, then it stops working for some time, then again with the over production and pain. I am not sure if I am more excited about the little sucker coming out or the sleeve happening. lol. You may have to remind me in a month, but I will let you know what all happens and how it goes.- free GNC membership today!
My Nut recommends powder/shakes that are at least 24g Protein and less than 10g Carbs. So I picked up a sample of their new GNC Protien Lean 24, and then some GNC Performance Pro. Both met those requirements and were actually less than 5g Carbs. They are 100% whey Protien, and there are lots of flavors...even unflavored. I found that this route is a bit cheaper than anything else locally. Even Sam's was pretty high, and didn't have much of a selection. Our's is pretty little and no Cosco here. Gotta get ready for the pre-op diet that starts next week. EEK!- Any suggestions?
for me, a pillow is awkward to sit on, but that may be due to the rotund nature of my toosh. lol. I flew to South Africa, and used a seat cushion...like the ones you get for sitting on at ball games. A friend of mine has fallen in love with that "Forever Comfy" seat cushion. Definitely get up and walk around when you can. This will also help with blood circulation if you are prone to swelling. Have a great time in Japan!!- free GNC membership today!
I think it may end today, but I stopped in to GNC to check out prices. They are letting you join their gold membership free!! Saved me some cash on protien powder and shakes! Woohoo!!!- I knoew it was coming! But it's still messing with my head!
go by a measuring tape! you should see your body responding to the weight loss and reshaping.- June 17
LOL! give it time! You'll get responses. I am not certain of what to answer. That information was given to me right from the beginning. I would just call the doctor's office and ask! Well come to the June 2013 Club!- protein drinks opinions
Your doc recommended these?! My mum is a dietitian, and we were researching the nutritional content. Glucerna, Boost, and Ensure are higher in Carbs than Protein! Not very good.- Crystal Light sickness
I tried MIO when it first came out. I think it was the peach tea. GAG! Perhaps I should try another. The Special K drinks, from what I see on the labels of the ready to drink bottles, are more Carb than Protein. Dr. says NO! to the Special K.- Crystal Light sickness
I am pre-op, and trying to start on cutting back on the sugar intake. This will be the hardest for me, so best to start early! I will do the pre-op diet 1 week before surgery. Here's my deal....I can drink CL, but it increases my stomach acid. I really want to barf right now...but need the Water. Does anyone else have this problem? I am already on Prilosec (Rx'ed 40mg, 2 times a day), and this has no effect! I believe it is the artificial sweetener that is causing this. Any suggestions on what else I can drink? I just hate plain water. I already have unsweet tea and green teas on the list, but I sure do like fruity flavors. Thanks!- June 2013 Sleevers GROUP
Here is what my dietitian says about protein shakes: A good protein supplement contains close to 20gm of protein/serving, or more and less than 10 grams of carbohydrates/serving (if a Meal Replacement shake) and less than 4gm of carbohydrates/serving (if a straight protein powder/shake). In addition to looking at the protein and carbohydrate content of your Protein Drink we also encourage you to take a peek at the ingredient label and identify the source of the protein. If the source of the protein is whey, milk protein blend, egg, or soy then you’ve got you a good source of protein; however, Whey is by far the best source of protein so stick with that if you can. Without a doubt it is imperative that you stay away from any protein supplements in which the source of the protein is a Collagen Protein Blend! Collagen is an incomplete protein and you want to stay away from it.- Odd question about removing the drainage tube
oh i hate the feeling of inertia. bleh- No longer invisible, and that's what I wanted, I thought ...
Lots of great insight above. I am do not have this problem, as I am still big. Surgery in a month!!! You cannot control what others think or how they act. You need to learn to be comfortable with who you are and have become. Grasp confidence! If you don't like the way a man is talking to you, be polite but CLEAR that you are not interested. As another post said, women will be catty no matter what. Hey, if your own best friend has the guts to start an affair with your husband and then lie to your face about it, then to heck with it all. (Yes, I went through that. Not pretty.) But what I learned from it was who I Could and SHOULDN'T trust. To thine own self be true. No one, NO ONE, can fault you for being an honest person. They will try, but that is their own jealousy/insecurity causing it. And AMEN on the self defense class!- Tmi... Birth Control... After surgery
I used depo for several years and never had a problem. LOVED IT. I got off it so that I could get pregnant. It took about a year to do so. I did use the Nuva-ring ONCE. I did not even last the month. It gave me the yeast infection from HECK! and it hurt like heck getting it out too. I don't recommend it at all.- June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"
You're my hero! Thanks so much for doing this!- Yeah! Got my date
HOORAY! It feels great when you get that call. Congratulations!- Let the countdown begin....
Since I am traveling to Big D for surgery and staying at my parents' house for recovery, I am packing for two weeks to stay there, as well as a small bag to take to hospital. On top of that, I have to pack my house and move this month! AUGH!! But I am shopping for my pre-op and post-op diet needs, Vitamin needs, etc... I cannot function without my To Do lists. lol- June surgery dates
On a regular computer/laptop, click the link I shared. In the upper right, just under the banner ad, is a BLACK button that says "Join Group". This is not the same as "Follow Group". If this still isn't working for you, as moderator, I can send you an Invite.- June surgery dates
June 5 for me! I just have to do the endoscopy the day before surgery, but other than that, I am ready to go! And I have to make a plug for our GROUP. It's an easy way for all us of too keep up with one another and check in. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/groups/show/222-june-2013-sleevers/ - Any suggestions?
