zoogrl got a reaction from Kalimomof3 in Old Habits Die Hard...
Telling someone not to use a straw is just moronic. It's a straw not a brownie...get off the soap box. If my Dr told me not to use a straw I still would if I didn't have problems. If the Dr said this quite frankly I'd get a different Dr. It's like when I went to the Dr (yes a physician) for HCG and they said not to use lotion because you absorb fats...most ridiculous crap ever, we aren't frogs.

I'm in purée and I ask friends to go to Breakfast places. I order a poached egg so I know it wasn't cooked in lard. It's worked great so far and my bill is like $1.00! Lol We are cheap dates now

Revenge? How about Inspiration? If your experience has minimal, or no complications, and the weight GRACEFULLY melts off, you will be inspiring her. It sounds like she is under a lot of pressure to be in that department with weight issues of her own. Feel compassion for her. you'd be taking the high road.
I doesn't MATTER if she is critical. That's her issues. You don't have to embrace or internalize any of it. Don't waste energy on this. Focus on YOUR good health, including your good mental health.

My opinion--go to the ER. You have no idea what is causing these problems and neither do we.

Dear Dude or Dudette hope your recovery is going well, no major problems??
sorry you feel so lonely/alone
do you have a support group you can join???
they are great - you meet people in the same WLS situation
your NUT/surgeon can probably direct you to meetings
if you don't have a NUT - you can call your hospital (even if you didn't have surgery there)
explain you had WLS - and they "should" help you find a support group - point you in the right direction
people help each other - give suggestions, moral support
just like here, but you are one on one in a group
glad you joined here
ask your questions - or just come here to talk with someone
modestly speaking
we're ALL great!!!!

I already got shamed for defending straws in a previous post, so I won't go there. Haha!
But that is a good example. People go as far as saying you weren't ready for surgery or are stupid for not following you surgeon's advice if you drink from a straw. Well what if your surgeon never told you not to? People assume all rules are the same.

My Dr. calls for 3 weeks of liquids too. First week is clear liquids and thin Protein shakes. Second and third week is full liquids. Really could only add strained creamed Soups and those had to be thin enough to go through a strainer easily. Was sleeved on the 6th and only started soft foods on Thursday. It's been great. The last week of liquids was hard because I would come in here and read what people were eating already and had surgery after me. But....It was worth the wait and I have had no adverse reactions to foods yet. It feels like my tummy is ready for it and not making it eat something its not ready for. So I am glad I waited.
It's hard but totally worth it! Hang in there, it's coming soon!

zoogrl got a reaction from Fiddleman in I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
It's disgusting!! I went almost a day and a half but last night I was so uncomfortable from the stupid drain and my neck from sleeping all weird. Now I just put it in some powerade-z then stick a sugar free pop in my mouth to drown the taste. I can't find sugar free liquid Tylenol here either so same deal with that. Yuk yuk yuk! :-P

zoogrl got a reaction from amanda1978 in Purees not good..
I am still on liquids but yesterday I was so hungry and ate about 1/2 of a stage 1 turkey and broth baby food. I felt fine and it was very finely puréed. My nut recommended stage 2 baby foods for the puréed stage. I just needed a tiny little bit of salt. It was kinda tasty! I have meat sticks (Vienna sausage like) for when it's time. Maybe it will be more gentle on the stomach since its designed for baby tummies good luck!

You will do awesome. I woke up and went to the hospital and had no regrets at all. I had a couple of minutes before they came to take me back where I thought what the hell am I doing but once they get you back in surgery they should give you something which will help u relax and then the anesthesia after that and you won't even remember it happening.
