    Help!

I am sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment; but It will get better. Meanwhile, please see your doctor about this foam in your mouth issue; sounds like nausea...which could be acid. Are you taking any antiacid at the moment? I found that a bit of lemon squeezed in my cold water helped tremendously earlier during my postop phase. If you can't find crystal lite where you are from, like myself, then get creative with your plain water...like mint, lemon, lemongrass, ginger, etc. I also swear by fresh ginger drink. Boil some in plain water and add sugar substitute to taste, if needed. I like it plain, but it may take some getting used to. Most importantly, make yourself drink all the time! It really does sound like an acid issue, which if can be managed, may help make your be able to take in more. This should then help with the weakness feeling. Best of luck, and keep us posted!

    Nearly 8 weeks post op

I am a slow loser too. I started at full steam post-op and losted almost 20 lbs in 2.5 weeks. Then the scale just stopped moving! I was so frustrated! I try to get in at least 80gms of protein and the min req 64 floz of water daily--it's hard! All my vitamins alone, helps me get a lot of water in daily. Recently' I resolved to focus on a healthy lifestyle without the scale. I also focused on how good it feels to slide into an old larger size jeans. Everybody's different, and this is hard enough, so I don't focus on others' numbers and keep my eyes on my own progress. Slow but sure!

    Weird pain/discomfort...

Any sort of pain that causes you to wonder after a major surgery like this, should be addressed by your surgeon if possible. However, I am wondering if it is just the tightness of the internal sutures or stitches. I had similar discomfort when seating in certain positions. My surgeon told me it would go away when the threads dissolved over time. It was bothering me for the first 4-5 weeks (sleeved Feb 18th) The feeling is completely gone now for me. Again, check with your doctor, as I heard not all surgeon even do the internal stitches for faster recovery...(?)
  4. Congratulations! You look amazing!

    I need advice!

I had a similar experience 3 weeks out. So, I would eat smalller meals throughout the day. What helped me a lot was to start a journal, and I would write down my proposed meal plan for the next day , calculating all the protein grams and calories in advance. I try to follow the plan as closely as possible, but I don't always get everything in. I would do then note the day real intake, and start modifying the next day plan to based on what I can eat more of. This keeps me on track, and no wondering what to eat throughout the day, so I can focus on work. The calories will start going up, and you will feel better soon!
  9. I thought I was the only one that gets this feeling! I think it's because eating is so hard these days, so the discomfort or the feeling of discomfort starts automatically as a response to 'hunger'... OR is it actual stomach acid or gas from the prep to eat something? Not much I can do, as this is all in my head, and I need the nutrients. So, I start the first bite or sip, and wait for a bit for the feeling to subside, then continue. Hang in there, I think once it is easier to eat down the road, it will go away. Keep us posted!

    My story

I had my sleeve on exactlly a month before you, and I ran into the same 'problem' So, I stopped getting on the scale, and took picture and body measurements instead. I promised myself to weigh only once a month. Focus on healing yourself and focus on the big picture. You will start losing the weigh again! It's like waiting on a kettle to boil. 60gm of proteins, and at least 64 floz of water everyday. Hard, but work up to it! Give your body a break, it's been through a lot! Your body's just figuring things out. I will be rooting for you!

    Protein Drinks

Hi -- The selection of protien shakes where I am from are very limited. So, I've come up with a formula that I can live with--maybe you would like to try this? I mix non-flavor whey protien (6 scoops; up to 24gm of protein) with a cup of Non-Fat milk--then I drop in a tbsp of Hershey's unsweetened chocolate powder (the one used for baking) and blend this with some ice. It doesn't taste great, but it doesn't taste bad either; like watered-down chocolate milk with 32gm protien and contains 210 cal. It doesn't break the bank, physically and financially for me. Plus, the non-flavor allows me to use it in some of my food dishes. Hope this helps!

    Too early for a stall?...

Hi, I think 920Amy is right, I experienced a rapid drop, then it stalled for a week! But, today I managed to lose another kilo (2lbs) finally. Don't despair, I think it is your body's way of dealing with the changes. Sound like you are doing well! I guess it's hard to fathom even a day without some changes, but keeping our eyes on the big picture will keep us going! Keep doing what you do, and focus on protien and Water intake. Please keep me posted!

    Too early for a stall?...

krob khun kaa! I am thankful for the opportunity to have a tool that will help me take control of my weigh problem. I have never been more committed to doing something in my life. It just seems so strange that all that hard work would have not made a difference. But, one day at a time, and it's only the beginning! I just hope I am not the one person on the planet that will not lose any weigh after being stuck on a deserted island for years! Are you in Thailand too? Great to hear someone speak the language!
  14. hi everyone, I am a recent sleever, currently living in Thailand. I had my VSG on the 18th of February by a wonderful surgeon, and I am receving tremendous support from my nutritionist as I work through the post-op diet. I had minimal complications (that I am aware of), and I as home within 2 days after surgery. I decided to join the forum for some moral support, as Thailand currently does not have the neccesary support system post-op, yet. I have a question I am hoping someone could help me figure out. I started the whole journey at 104kg, and lost 6kg pre-op, left the hospital after surgery at 100kg(I did not urinate much for 1000mg of IV for 2 days) and went down to 92kg within 2 weeks(I think it was all Water weigh, though) I've been on the post-op diet regime for the past 3 weeks, eating average of 600-700cal and 50-60gm of Protein per day. I've also recently gotten back to the gym for light cardio. However, it seems I have not lost any weigh for the past 1 week! It just seems strange to not lose anything with such low calories consumption! Have I hit the starvation mode button on my body? Any help, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
