gigi1981 got a reaction from Kalimomof3 in JUST WONDERING IF I AM THE ONLY ONE
I have always been bottom heavy. My surgeon made sure to let me know that whilst weight carried on the hips is healthier that stomach fat it is also harder to shift. I've lost 70lbs in 6 months with gym in there too and have shrunken nicely on top but my but is still an Australian 12 so it's curvey but it has shrunken from an 18 so I am happy with its progress but I'm 10 lbs from goal but I am getting too thin up top so I'm reevaluating if I will get to goal or just work on toning the ample bottom

I often am amazed when I am on this site, it was a biscuit. Eat it and enjoy it. I eat chocolate everyday( a few pieces not a whole block like i did pre-sleeve) I have lost 40 kg and maintained for the last six months. I eat well most of the time but I allow myself treats. I didn't have this surgery to be on a diet the rest of my life. I wanted to have an external control to help me. But a life of no treats... Never. Life is for living and I say everything in moderation.

gigi1981 got a reaction from RAAinNH in LapBand - horrible outcome
I also had to wait 8 months for my band ravaged stomach to heal. But I have since had the sleeve and am very happy with the results. I've had it 7 months and lost 30 kgs. I have not had any of the vomitting and reflux that I had daily with the band. I can eat what I like without any drama (small portions of course)
Be patient, the time will fly, best of luck with your new journey.

I am 10 lbs from goal and get lots of comments about how I'm fading away but I still see FAT. I can acknowledge that I am thinner but I still fee fat, yet I consciously know that I'm in a small size and that if my arse was as huge as I perceived that it wouldn't fit into the small pants but my mind doesn't see it yet. I'm hoping that it will soon catch up.

I've had my sleeve since oct 2012 and have had only two instances where I have felt the need to throw up after eating. It is not normal with a sleeve. I would be going back to the surgeon ASAP to look into this. I would question if you are eating too fast or drinking with your meal as both of these can lead to discomfort.
I wish you luck and hope you get this sorted very soon

gigi1981 got a reaction from Kellylynn in Am I doomed? (Please say no!)
I'd be quite worried, the reason that they get you to go on a pre-op diet is to reduce the fat around your internal organs. If they are too fatty it makes the surgery riskier and they may need to switch from laparoscopic to an open incision.
Also there is no cheating once you have had the surgery or you could do some serious damage and create a hole in your stomach.
This is your health you need to be honest with your doctor and let him / her know exactly what is happening with your food intake.
Best of luck in your journey.

gigi1981 got a reaction from KelBel in Too emotional and moody?
I'm four months post op and about 50 pounds down only 15 to goal. I experienced crazy emotional madness in the first month I was teary and irrational, this lasted until about the 8 wks to when I suddenly felt more like myself. I am now feeling quite emotionally stable although I still have some bad days that I think may be due to being a bit overtired, I do get tired more easily now. I am not the best at remembering to take my Vitamins though
