Macy6 got a reaction from disneyteach in Live support groups vs. virtual support groups
I go to a weight loss support group monthly and regularly visit VST. I agree there are clearly defined differences. I appreciate my monthly meetings because they have a different speaker or lesson every month; anything from Vitamins to an exercise physiologist, the psychiatrist came in and talked about the mental part of weight loss. I also appreciate VST for the different people, the different views and all of the information in one space.

The ones I pay attention to the most are nurses and I have seen some of them take off up to two months. Long hours, pushing, pulling, lifting, squatting.

Oh phew! You made me feel less stupid thank you! I was like, "this is NOT rocket science, you can figure this out". Cool! So as long as I don't use it as an excuse to eat again later or exceed my calories, I should be good.
As much dang soup as I have had to eat over the last 5-6 weeks you'd think I'd never want soup again, but I love soup

It's a solid that slides! It won't stay with you as long as a nice piece of meat. But hey when you need hot and sour Soup you need hot and sour soup! Or wor won ton

I took some advise and got off my ass and took my kids and dog for a walk.. Yesterday and today.. No junk food for me.. Back to basics and I feel pretty good. I have about 25 lbs to go and I'm hoping by Christmas that will be gone for good! I figure that's a pretty attainable goal to achieve in 4 months!

    Hello everyone!!
I'm extremely excited, I FINALLY got a letter of approval to have a surgeon consulatation! After 1 1/2 of dealing with one insurance, and being denied, I canceled it and switched to HealthNet-Medi-cal (So. California) with Pinoeer Medical Group. To my surprise I received the 1 step letter for a consulation! I know it isn't an approval just yet for surgery but my goodness it's the first step! :D :D :D
I was told by the surgical coordnaitor that they move quickly and that I meet the requirements with my BMI just alone, so this means I have a pretty good chance of being approved for surgery!!She told me that surgery can be as soon as 1-2 months!!
I have an appointment this Tuesday for a 4 hour long "program" requirment which will include the 1 session with the nurtriounist and all the insurance requirments. I have an appointment this week for the psychological evaluation which I do have to pay for ($80) so that step is taken care of.
Alright folks.. I will give an update next week after Friday because that is when I meet with the actual doctor!
    Good luck,
    Piper

Why is this so hard to believe? Let this story stand leave this daughter alone. Why would a "troll" start a story a year ago then wait an entire year to update about the passing of her mother?
People die. Nothing trollish about it. People die right under your noses most times, they go into surgery and post before. All of you wish them luck and please update... And they don't and no one notices...
    Leave it alone.

OK honestly I think it is a really cute dress. Is it perfect? no, but it is really really REALLY close. I would not tell you to take it back!!! The lines on it are very flattering, the way it curves on your hips and waist is very flattering. I would honestly say you are very close to it being a perfect fit and is something you need to keep in your closet!

You definitely aren't alone. I saw an ad for Bagels and cream cheese earlier and mourned the cream cheese lmao. I was like OMG pull it together. I will come off soft foods 2 days before thanksgiving. I'm already scared. I keep telling myself: I will eventually incorporate foods back into my life in a more effective and healthful way. I will someday have a bagel and cream cheese again but it will be half of a whole grain bagel with a couple teaspoons of low fat cream cheese and it will be OK. I have lived 14-15 years of food funerals. I have gorged myself to nausea. I have ate because it was there and not because I was hungry. I have risked my life and the livelihood of my child for my addiction. It's time to put me first, it's time to reach for the stars and actually reach them. We got this. It won't be easy but we can do this.

I am afraid you are putting yourself into a box. You are trapped by your impossible standards. You want someone who wants you despite your attractive or unattractive body. The problem is this: you cannot get rid of your body without dying and you want someone without human nature.
Humans have eyes that serve them by helping them judge their surroundings. From the time we are born we use our eyes to avoid danger and find things that please us.
Men have sex drives. That drive is a part of who they are. When they look at a woman they are looking through the eyes of a sexual person. The more noble among us put that drive down the list of things that are important and allow love, affection, loyalty, kindness, and responsibility to take precedence.
You could find a man without a sex drive. Would you want such a man? Not if you have a sex drive. Or you could do what many women do, find a man that is a good enough actor who can convince you that their affection for you is purely spiritual and emotional. Such men are often laden with hidden motives.
When I desparage people for being superficial I train my critical gaze upon myself and review the many times that my eyes were mistaken about my judgement of people or rather my brain interpreted the information wrong.
Ask yourself: Do I look at men and not see their bodies? Do I size them up in a way I wouldn't want to be sized up?
I am not saying to quit looking for a guy that isn't a jerk. What I am saying is to allow yourself to be desired but not at the price of allowing your inner self to be overlooked. Find a guy who thinks with the head that sits on his shoulders, not the "other head." You want someone who can love you but allow that they do not have to be eunichs.
Edit: again I put a lot of time into a reply but failed to see where it was posted, in the ladies section. If you want this deleted do so or tell me to. Sorry.

I chose to only tell a few select people while in the application process. I didn't want to have to explain to people what happened if I failed at it. Once I received my approval and surgery date I told others, who I am close with that might be upset if I had surgery without them knowing (family and friends) once I have surgery I plan on telling others on a need to know basis. I have no intentions on hiding it, however I don't necessarily want to walk around with the t shirt.

I'm 5 weeks post op and my family and I went to Water Country USA today. I was able to walk the whole day and also rode Water slides 7 times, which means I climbed at least 35 flights of stairs! Am I anxious to lose more than 27#? Of course! But even 27# off added lots to my life. I would never have been able to do any of that 27# ago! Oh, and I walked all over Busch Gardens yesterday too!
Oh, and to the person who stole my bathing suit cover up at water country ... Enjoy, and I hope it lasts you a long time! I surely won't be that size next summer and so I have no need for it!

I'm not hiding it, nor am I ashamed of it, I am simply not announcing my surgery to the world. Why? It's none of anyone's business. I am working hard eating right, exercising daily and journaling everything.
My parents and immediate family know, my BFFs know and a few of my work team members know. Why does anyone else need to?
