    Not losing weight

People, we should all know that up to 5 pounds can be due to fluid retention. Just stick with it and you could be losing inches.

    reflux is it normal?

My surgeon told me that if i don' t raise my be I will suffer from acid reflux. I have put my bed up on a railway tie and have had no problems. try it!

I was sleeved by Dr Garcia in Tijuana 8 days ago and it was a very positive experience.

    Consipation

You should not be constipated if you are drinking non-egg based protein shakes.
  7. The length of preop liquid diet is according to BMI. Some have 2 weeks or 1 week or less. The reason for the diet is to shrink your liver so that they can push it out of the way easier during the surgery.

    Gum?

My surgeon said no, because when you chew you gum you swallow air and it can cause gas pains.

    confession :(

Just saying...that a fellow sleever took a big bite of hubby's cheese burger on day 2 post-op and was taken by ambulance to larger hospital for leak. So...really it isnt healthy or wise to go off your diet.
  11. I am day 8 and have been on liquids the whole time. For the next 9 days I am going to puree white chicken and add it to my cream soups. After the 17 days I will be on to soft finely chopped meats like chicken, lamb and seafood, I can also have cottage cheese, vegetable juice and toast. I feel fine on this diet and dont feel hunger at all yet. Even the smells of food or watching someone else eat doesnt seem to bother me. Weird.
  12. everyone is different because I have not had pain or gas or any complication. I take malox before bed. I am lucky I guess
  13. Hi, I was just sleeved one week ago today by Dr. Garcia. I have 5 incisions. One for the camera, one for the light, one for pumping in the CO2 and O2, one for the drain, and one for the tool. They are small and will go away if treated properly with vitamin E etc. I know people who have had this done and the incisions are no longer visible. I can imagine only one incision.
  14. I am on day 8 of my post op diet. I have been living on Isopure shakes, chicken broth, light greek yogurt (has higher protein), strained cream soups, sugar free/fat free jello and puddings and sugar free popsicles. Not a bad variety and I have lost 10 pounds. I am going to try puree chicken breast tonight I think and add it to my cream of chicken soup. I will also make a seafood chowder and puree all the seafood. I could eat baby food too if I want too. I know this wont last forever and I will just make the best of it. Sometimes dehydration can feel like hunger or even a high acid stomach. I take a little malox to be sure.

    Preop Diet Optins

My surgeon told me that the Coscto shakes will cause constipation because they are egg based. He was right because I tried them as part of my preop diet. So good luck with those. I am staying with isopure.
