Only one month from a year never thought I could lose as much weight as have in this amount of time was the best decision I ever made. This has been a hard year as far as personal life. The only thing that had been good is the weight loss. My sw. 451 cw 246 goal was 250 now I'm just going to loss as I don't look sick. I get to go back to Tijuana mx with a friend next month on my one year mark and I know dr ponce de leon will so a great job for him.

It's amazing how much weight ages you. Everyone looks ten years younger in their current photos. I'm very proud of everyone and motivated by all of you!

Went to fund raiser yesterday. Saw a few friends that I hadn't seen in a while. As I walked down the steps, one of my friends, thats seen recent pictures of me, pointed me out to another friend. The other friend didn't recognize me initially because she hadn't seen me since I started this healthier journey. It was too funny when she did, then she went crazy with compliments. Felt so good.

    Today marks 7 months post op. pre-op 315, SW 294, today 208.
I am still only able to eat max 2 oz Protein at a meal. 60 pounds until I reach the lowest goal I have set. Realistically, I set my goal at 30 more lbs. I'll see how I feel and go from there. I've also upped my calories to 1200 and most days I'm able to hit it with 6 meals and guacamole.
Hope everyone else is doing great.

I think tracking your food helps a lot with the guilt of cravings. I have my occasional cookie or brownie, and Oreo 100 cal packs are a staple in my diet. Tracking for me has made me aware of what Im eating and if I can have that little indulgence.

Thanks, this is so challenging sometimes and you have to try to stay focused. This is a tool and sometimes I slip up but I'm loving my sleeve. I've lost about 63 pounds which is great. 100 would be better, lol

Right now I'm not tracking really well but I aim for 1200. I haven't been tracking carbs as much but I keep them under 100.

So today is my official 6 month Surgiversary and I am so happy to report that I am down 71.8 lbs! So this week, not only did I lose the 3 lbs I gained on vacation I lost 2 more! I worked for it because of the gain and the past month has been more of a challenge as I am able to eat more and want to eat more and my weight loss has slowed. I am enjoying exercising so much more now though as it is so much easier than before and I want to start setting some fitness goals for myself. My experience of this surgery has been so easy compared to some of the horror stories I've read on this forum. I am very thankful to have had such an easy ride. But I now am in the nitty-gritty and will need to work at it to keep losing and reach my goal. Have a great day everyone!
    pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2; 5 month post-op 262.6; 6 month post-op 253.8

8-19-13 I am 6 months post surgery. I posted regularly for a while but I retired June1st and I am just beginning to check out the posts again. I went to my surgeon today for 6 month follow-up. I am doing very well. My lab results were good except my cholesterol levels were up from my 3 month follow-up. My diabetes is much better controlled. My heaviest weight was 226 before I decided to check into surgery. It took me 3 years of yo-yo dieting to get down to 204. I am 5'3" and I was wearing 18w clothes. NOW, I am down to 133 lbs!!! I am almost there and Looking at what I need to do once I reach maintenance. It has been an awesome journey. I am so thankful and I do not mind being in front in pictures anymore.

I'm still in the hospital and by day two (yesterday) I had no trouble with an ounce at a time of Protein Drink as well as decent sips of Water. Was concerned this is too easy too soon!!

30ml is in 1 ounce. I've been able to take nearly normal drinks of any liquid since 2 days out. As long as it doesn't hurt you should be good.

I know its none of their buisness just was caught off guard with the blunt outright gull ! Thanks for all the positive comments guys . Im still learning how to react to peoples questions . I have been telling them diet and working out which is the truth . Just dont know where the shame comes from ? I have been over weight my whole life and have failed many diets lost 80 pounds then gain back 80 and then some . I think its just the negative stigma wt loss surgery has . When I told close family and friends some said why dont u just diet and exercise . Crap !!!! been there done that my whole life and failed . I know that I just have to learn to except that i really dont have to care what everyone else thinks, this is my life and so far I m loving life as a healthy thin person. My surgery was May 1st and so far have lost 61 # starting wt was 257 and current wt is 196. I finally reached onederland !!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. I can eat about 1/4 c of them puréed, and that's not even 10 gms of carbs really. Also the babybel light cheeses taste and feel different to the string cheese and that might be a nice break.
Someone had also suggested to me putting in Protein powder into thickish lentil Soups when they were warm.
