  1. Good luck. I'm sure some of it is just the unknown. I know I start on my preop this week and am scared that I won't be able to stick to liquids and will get hungry. I am also worried about liver size as I have had hepatitis in the past which has caused permanent increased size. I'm sure you'll do fine and it will all work out. I know I look forward to hearing from you and the others who will be banded this month. It will be nice to have some support from people who are experiencing the same thing.
  2. I just had the first of my preop tests done yestercday. Finish up on Tuesday. I attended the seminar again yesterday so my husband could get more information about the surgery. Go to the surgeon's office tomorrow to sign papers and get prediet and post surgery information. Start liquid diet tomorrow. Can't believe it will be over in 12 days.
  3. I fall in the Lucky 7 group. My surgery date is 7/20 provided that I pass all preop testing. That begins on 7/10. I am very excited but also scared.
  4. I received approval from my insurance company earlier this week I was out of town but my doctor's office called me. I am set for 7/20. I am so excited but scared at the same time.
  5. I am at a BMI of 35.4. I have been over 200 pounds for over 5 years, I have several years of unsuccessful weight loss attempts. The last was with a doctor. I also have been on Weight Watchers and have 2 person trainers. I do not have diabetes but have been put on medication for it. I am pre diabetes and/or insulin resistant, I have high blood pressure which is managed by medicine, I have had my gall bladder out, I have had back surgery 5 years ago, I now have pain in my lower back, knees and hip. My cholesterol has gone up in the past few years as that I am on medicine. My insurance is with United Health Care. My waist is 40+ inches. I would like to know your thoughts if this is enough comorbid obesity related items to get the surgery approved.
