Eating is more like a chore...

I am 9 weeks out and I still have the discomfort and vomiting.I do the chewing to nothing but it doesn't help. Its quite disheartening til I step on the scales. I'm hoping it will get better in time x

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I do take lansoprozole, which is the same kind of medication, but this stops the acid but not the sickness that I feel. I will get some probiotics and see if that helps. I'm just sick of the nausea and. I'm worried my 3yr old will think that its normal to be sick after food. She asks me everytime I eat if I'm okay and do I need to be sick. I really need to get this sorted out. Thank you so much for your advice. :-) x

    Vomiting, post op 9weeks, vsg

I hope I have anyway, if I start to stall again I may just cry lol it was horrid to stall but I read lots of feedback on here and the main advice was drink...drink..drink. So I bought my water bottle and carry it everywhere, sipping as I go :-)

    Vomiting, post op 9weeks, vsg

I am just starting week 6, and I was told by my dietician to eat with a teaspoon to make sure your not putting too much in your mouth so for someone to say they are only eating 6 teaspoons of food makes perfect sense to me. I am the same, if I eat its only 4-6 teaspoons but I try and ensure I have three meals a day so it adds up to extra. I do still get disappointed that I can't finish a meal even though its a tiny portion, if I'm enjoying the food but my tummy says no way I just stop. I've learnt not to push it as if I continue I get very sick. I do carry a water bottle with me everywhere or I forget to drink, this got me pass my stall and is a blessed relief when I'm feeling very dry, I constantly take sips x

Any New Uk Sleevers Out There?

Hi, I've only just found this group. I was sleeved on the 23/1/13. I'm stuck at the moment and a little bit down, I'm on week 5. Last wk I only lost a pound and a half and this wk looks like its going to be the same. I've up'd my fluids, I was finally able to eat something yesterday without being sick which was great, just hoping this stops the tiny weight loss and kick starts the good weight losses.

    Is nausea and vomiting common?

Today I was able to eat mashed potato, mashed carrot, minced beef and gravy. Tiny portion eaten very slowly and its stayed down, I'm so happy :-) I dont feel sick at all. I was actually dreading eating my tea/dinner as I expected to be sick like everytime before. I have tried to up my fluids today as I know I'm dehydrated. I hope this all helps :-)

Looking on the internet it seems they may also be called Scallions. :-)

    Mini quiche

Shallots in the Uk are small onions, they are not as strong as the normal onion. I think that maybe you could use shallots if they were softened first. (the Uk version of shallots I mean) I hope all this helps :-)

    Mini quiche

Its also known as a salad onion, its white with green stem, thin and mainly used in salads. I hope that helps :-)

    shaved from ankles to armpits!

Tape wasn't used on my boobies, mine are rather large so to put your mind at ease not all surgeons use tape, maybe its due to them being able to be swung over the shoulders without the use of tape, or tied neatly in a bow. x

    Mini quiche

Thank you, I asked for both as I don't really eat pastry so would try without, do you think they would be thick enough to make without pastry? I will definitely give them a go :-) x

    Is nausea and vomiting common?

I've just started on the soft diet and everytime I eat I get discomfort in my sternum and then I get sick, I do the 20/20 but this doesn't work. I always end up eating cold food due to the time it takes to eat. I have the same problems with drinking but without the vomiting. I'm sure I'm not drinking enough but really cannot get it down without severe discomfort. My surgery was on 23/01/13. Weight lost 29 and a half pounds x

    Surgery 2/28

Hi I'm 37 with 5 children, and married. My main reasons for having the surgery was a health scare. I decided not to tell anyone but a couple of very close friends and my immediate family. this was due to feeling like I would be judged for my actions. The week I started the pre op diet I told staff I was starting a healthy eatting diet, which was true, I stated I was cutting down my calories which was also true. I feel that I do not have to tell anyone my business. The choice is yours who you tell, don't feel forced to tell people if you really don't want to. I've lost 28 pounds since pre op diet and my surgery on the 23/1/13. Good luck with your journey :-)

    Where Is Everyone From?

    Nottingham, England.
  21. I have had the shoulder pain on and off since surgery, the Dr said this is referred pain ans not to worry, I've had a pain down my left side which hurts on movement, this I was told was were the muscles are stitched well to prevent hernias. Mine does not radiate into my back though, its just left shoulder and side. The Dr said this pain should resolve within two wks. My date was 23/2/13. I hope this helps :-)
